Perm any 1 from Coutts, Fleck, Duffs and possibly even Lafferty. All tasked with dead ball plays in certain areas of the pitch, so why not from 12y ????????

I'd give the job to Coutts, given his accuracy with both feet st the corner challenge and his success in preseason and the recent shootout he would be next in line for me. Fleck missed in the last shoot out.
It takes two though. You can hit a really good pen but the keeper makes a fantastic save. It happens. Keepers are fucking huge these days and are capable of covering almost all the goal. There are only two types of penalty - good and bad.
The good ones go in, the bad ones stay out.
Gets on my worryingly enlarging tits when commentators/fans describe a saved/missed penalty as a well struck effort and it 'wasn't technically a bad penalty' - yes it was, it didn't go in.
Sorry, have to agree to disagree. It takes two though. You can hit a really good pen but the keeper makes a fantastic save. It happens. Keepers are fucking huge these days and are capable of covering almost all the goal.
And you can hit a shit pen but the keeper dives early, the wrong way and it goes in. Doesn't make it a good pen, just lucky.
You obviously didn't see the penalties Coutts scored for the U21s/reserves (whatever they are called) last season.100% record.Paul Coutts:
292 professional appearances, all as a midfielder
7 goals
I'd rather have Moore take them.

I understood what you wrote in your first post but I disagree. I can't really add any more to that because it's my opinion, there isn't really a factually correct answer. But you're wrong, a lucky shit pen is a lucky shit pen.Sorry, have to agree to disagree.
A scuffed bobbling penalty that trickles in is a good penalty, because its gone in.
A brilliantly struck effort heading right in the top corner but amazingly saved is still bad one, because you haven't scored.
Some players just can't take pens. It's not technique, it's mental. Too much thinking about it beforehand and too much pressure; affects the legs.
I've got a 100% record too. But like Coutts, I have never taken one in league football. We have better candidates than someone who makes Monty look like Alan Shearer.
You don't have to score goals in open play to qualify as a good penalty taker you know. After watching Coutts pass when he had a great chance to take a shot from outside the box in front of the Kop last night, I'd put Coutts at the bottom of the list of penalty takers.
Coutts is so shot shy it's unreal.

Agree. The two players players who've got the bollocks to take the game by the scuff of the neck when it's dwindling or the crowd are turning.I'd get Fleck on them. Get him practicing hitting the top third of the goal with power 2 or 3 yards either side of centre. I'd trust his technique more than anyone's.
If not him then Duffy.
But there is more proof to say he is a good penalty taker than to the contrary.I realise that, but Coutts doesn't seem to like the responsibility of shooting (probably cause he's got a poor shot), so that doesn't qualify him as a decent penalty taker in my opinion.
I don't get it at all me. He's got great technique, a great driven pass and can usually put it wherever he wants it. If he could just hit it towards goal like a sort of harder driven pass into the corner he'd score a good few.I realise that, but Coutts doesn't seem to like the responsibility of shooting (probably cause he's got a poor shot), so that doesn't qualify him as a decent penalty taker in my opinion.
