In my opinion, no. Although your question was, effectively, do I believe what I’ve just posted? I know how many injuries we’ve had and I know how many points we are above third place. In my opinion, we’ll continue to get injuries and towards the end of the season, we’ll be struggling again, we’ll miss out by a couple of points and go into the playoffs dejected. We’ll lose and then Hecky will get the blame. Hopefully my opinion won’t be put to the test and we’ll sign someone.

Between our clapped out older players, talented loans and pending departures. I just can’t see who we could take with us on our next Premier league journey?

The high press was completely absent which continually led to overloads in the middle. The midfield looked leggy so they were often straight into the backline bypassing the midfield. In possession we couldn't play out due to their press and, in my view, a fatigued Anel and Clark (Anel's best match since injury/illness in the ball carrying/overloading respect was vs Blackpool). Due to this we were often whacking long balls up to Sharp and Ndiaye as we couldn't pass through the thirds. Our best patch first half came when Ndiaye would turn a hoof or knock into the channel into a good ball. Sharp was removed from the game until the latter stages when we could pass him the ball.

The outmuscled midfield combating their press soon coughs up when we tried to play through,especially when combined with our poor passing they just recycled down either flank and attacked us at will,so we are left with the counter or dead balls,or pass through better.
We need plans A,B and C and maybe more,but we just dont have the legs or mobility in midfield or the muscle up front to counter these tactics and change the game,so relying on their mistakes ir getting tired.
Saying that,Billy should have scored twice and won us the game and their goal was just stupidity,so taking our chances and cutting out mistakes is the way to win until McBurnie comes back or we get some players in that can do the job.

I think another key is trading players in the PL. If you can get a few young uns that you can sell for 40 million + and then reinvest wisely you're on the road to becoming sustainable. Although we targeted the right type of player, apart from Rambo and Bogle we got the wrong ones.We were also unlucky with the JOC injury (a potential big sale). It didn't help that all our young talent was sold before we reached the PL (Brooks, DCL, Adams, Ramsdale).

I think all the young talent was sold to get us up and out of the Turd and championship , and it worked
Think Chris spent and wasted money , on the belief if we went down we had
The best top end championship players and youngsters with resale value to keep us afloat

We thought we were up in the Wilson season, got complacent and didn’t prepare for the possibility of Evans being sent down. That over confidence combined with parsimony ultimately cost McCabe the club.
I’m a pessimist, a lot of my job is about predicting what can go wrong so I have a tendency towards doing so. I may be over pessimistic but I’ve been watching football for a long time, not just the Blades, and I’ve seen lots of clubs blow good positions. I cannot ever remember a club that didn’t sign a single player in the JTW getting promoted. That’s not to say we can’t be the first, but I think it’s unlikely. I’m not asking for us to spend millions because I know we haven’t got it, just a couple of loans or something, just to cover key positions and make us a little less reliant on Ndiaye. If we haven’t budgeted for that, we’ve made poor decisions at the start of the season.

Not here to discuss the semantics as I'm fully aware we've had a number of games in succession and pretty much the same XI since the break...

However, the first hour tonight reminded me of Season 2 in the PL where ever team seemed to have faster, fitter, stronger more agile players than us. Gave me a premonition of what next year could look like... What didn't help was seeing Brentford doing something similar to Liverpool.

Food for thought for Hecky and Tom Little as that's one area that we're still needing a lot of work..m

QPR played with determination to get over losing 3-0 to Luton and got the boost of a deflected lead,
we still matched them in shots and possession , thing is theres very little between most teams in the championship as the table shows
we made Burnley look static with our intense work rate second half but njo team can k<eep that up for 90 luckilly QPR couldnt

We were trying to sell Berge and offers were well short of our valuations. That clearly would have affected budgeting.

You may not like to hear it, but it’s just a fact. Unless you can state why you disagree in a way that doesn’t involve weeping over my opinion?

I'm a little more optimistic than you about our promotion chances, but if we leave all of our 'Premier League recruitment' to the Summer we're taking one hell of a gamble and based on our previous experience (Luke Freeman/Calum Robinson) I'd rather we made our mistakes prior to needing/expecting these new signings to step in...

Jettison and McAtee showed what energy and agility can bring, so we really need to start bringing in players with that. I'm still a Sharp defender as he still has a major role to play for us. However, that role isn't to be a starting no 9 for five or six games in succession...
