Spent £10m on loans in January. Got them nowhere and their loan players won't stay. I don't see why it would have been any different for us if we had signed players in Jan. Both clubs had too much to do. WBA fans aren't happy they wasted so much money on a doomed season.

I agree. People still talk like Lingaard would have saved us and it was a huge loss. I really don't see that at all. At best we might have won a couple more games, still gone down and completely wasted money.

Maybe Wilder would still have been here I suppose?

Maybe Lingard might have kicked the rest of the players into gear a bit, that's about the only benefit. There's an article about Maitland-Niles on the Athletic today where he gave the team a bit of a talking to as he didn't want to play for a shit team. Lingard might have done similar. We'd still have gone down either way, but perhaps we might have not disliked some of our players as much as we do at the moment.
