Clayton, real handful, not had much game time but looks like he has a big part to play for me, unplayable, sublime finish first goal, sheer power second goal

Lundstrum - take it back, he's a very good footballer, just seems when he does misplace a pass it ends up in a goal or chance for the other side. Honestly thought he was fantastic tonight.

Moore - Bad start but not his fault, was a giant and constant communicator in the 2nd half to get us that point.

A great point considering the shocking start, let’s not forget with a weakened team as well. The futures bright

Blades man of the match on sofascore

Wilder was all smiles after the match. I think it reassured him that the spirit is there in the team despite the poor form.

Add Basham in there. Thought he was excellent alongside the fantastic Lundstram.

Moore was very shakey in the first half, lacked confidence and came for nothing. Second half he confirmed his place for the foreseeable. Much better

I rely hope so too, first touch was sublime for first goal, followed up,by quality chip. Second goal,,pure power and accuracy, all good.

Lundstram was superb today ,as was Duffy and Donaldson. Carruthers was......

Carruthers was better actually! He dived once and then ran one out but he passed it well 4 or 5 other times...neat and tidy but kept it and acutally helped us keep the ball and stayed in his shape better. I thought Duffy was a bit quieter than normal. Bash was weird. Ran around like a man men but his passing was wretched at times and he kept missing the ball when going to kick it. He ran his socks off though but a bit fortunate not to go off. Donaldson is either a world beater or non existent. Does not seem to be anything inbetween!

Agreed on all fronts. The Don is an absolute Beast when he is on it and an incredible finisher.

Lunny was superb, MOM for me.

Bash - a Lion as usual. Rarely seen a United player leave so much on the pitch.

Yes Bash always gives 100% that’s why I never like to have a go at him. He found his ideal position for his career last season which is the right side of a back three, but if you put him midfield, CB or right wing back he will never shirk it.

But his best position is that right side of the back three,

Wouldn't disagree mate. An accomplished CB, decent elsewhere, but whatever his position he is the lad you want standing next to you in the trenches, so to speak.

I saw him feel his groin but played on for a good while longer, think he'll be ok.

Bash was pretty good defensively today but his passing was woeful and he was bloody lucky not to get sent off. Thankfully he won't be playing in this position much more.

After being a pillar of strength for us this season Basham should have been sent off for his stupidity in the 2nd half. We can forgive him though - even though he should have been taken off by Wilder after that last drag-back - as he epitomises our team spirit and our season so far.
Lundstam gave the ball away far too much, his distribution is not quite good enough and he is nothing like a 'Coutts' of 'Fleck' even at his best....but he is fucking carrying our midfield at the moment and has earnt my complete respect and support.
We are nothing like the team we were a few weeks ago but we are battling.....and i'm still proud of the lads tonight. A good point at Villa.
11 points clear of the pigs at Christmas and still a good chance of the play-offs heading into the second half of the season.

Watched on telly & saw plenty to set me up lovely for Boxing Day!!
OK - we started the game 10 minutes after them but then :-

The Don - oooof! Get in!
Leon - never stopped all night.
Lundstram - great game & what a pass for The Don’s first goal.
Bash - he was off his head but loved it.
CCV - back to business
JOC - solid & focused

These were my stand out performances from a very good team effort. A point at Villa is a good point to get & hope it helps us out of our recent little run.

Wilder was grinning like a dog with 2 dicks after the game. Rightly so.

Boxing Day can’t come soon enough!

I had a quick look at the Villa forum (due to the delay in the View From!) and the comments are along the lines of, 'how far we have fallen to let Clayton Donaldson score two'. It is good to be underestimated again!

I'm always a tad dissapointed when Duffy gets hauled off after 70 min. Maybe I can understand it more in that we've got four games so close together.
