Or am I getting giddy , thinking we're finally appointing a DOF ?? Although knowing us he'll be the worst one in history 🤣🤣🤣

I think lets see what happens here. I don't get the impression he will be resigning as chief exec/director of the football club.

Also if he did resign. That would not mean we are appointing a DOF. A DOF does not handle the day to day running of the club like Bettis does too.

Rumours going round that Bettis has resigned from the boardView attachment 236155

That's COH Sports. He's still listed as a director of Sheffield United Football Club:

Shame if so, presided over a sustained period of relative success at the club despite a lot of turbulence in the background.
Agreed, would be a big loss. Never understood the criticism of him. Without doubt the best CEO we've had, and the best figure of stability at the club since we had someone like Dooley.

Bettis has been part of 3 promotions, return to the the top flight twice, navigated through the potential financial disaster during the 2022-2023 season, continued growth of the Academy, a big supporter of trying to improve infrastructure with modest budget. He's also pretty honest and straight to the point.

I wonder how good he could be if we actually had some money and further support on the technical side from a footballing strategy perspective.

I'm actually buzzing about the prospect of this, it might mean that we want to take ourselves seriously as a club.

I've told you before coh sports are just reverting to the original directors for their court case with the poker player .

Nothing to do with the COH UK set up. It’s the individuals in the US.

Two US businessmen fraudulently cut two others out of their 2024 deal to acquire English soccer team Sheffield United FC from a Saudi prince, according to an unsealed lawsuit.

Vertex Albion Capital founder Tom Page is suing the team’s owners, Resilience Capital Partners co-founder Steve Rosen and Guardant Health Inc. CEO Helmy Eltoukhy, in Delaware’s Chancery Court.

How on earth has this thread started up when it's all been explained on a different thread ?

Nothing wrong with SB as a Director / CEO / accountant.

The only reservation I have is that he is very close pals with CW and although CW is supposed to report to him , in actual fact there is no one "managing" CW coz SB has no seniority in terms of "football" on his CV.

That might work in the particular circumstances of CW with his history & love for the club , and "finger in every pie" style of football manager.

But nevertheless, our atrocious recruitment and coaching/fitness (not just Selles but CW too) convinces me that a senior "football" man on the board would help to counterbalance the sheer ignorance & naivety of the Yankee mob and give CW a better second opinion than the seemingly docile Knilly.

I personally thought that CoH would make Wilder their DoF to exploit all his experience & contacts in the game.

I dunno whether CW refused that role or was never offered it.
He's quite stubborn and probably wedded to the "finger in every pie" type of manager.

But in terms of progress for the club , I just don't think that management of the entire "football side of things" can be vested in one man.

It's risky for the obvious reasons and it's poor continuity & succession-planning.

I remain very surprised that the supposedly successful Yankee businessmen have not changed this structure and given themselves some measure of control when they sit far away across the pond.

You might ask what's the difference from the Prince , but imo , he had a great enthusiasm for and knowledge of football behind him and could talk man to man with CW about players etc.

And even so , his valedictory message to CoH was "get control of CW".
Because , for all his positive attributes , you can't let him make the whole club into his personal fiefdom.
