BEST: Alan Kelly

WORST: We've been quite lucky in this regard down the years. I wasn't there, but it has to be the one and only Lee Baxter

(not the best or the worst, but you get my drift)

Away days:

BEST: Southampton, Xmas 2006 (1-0, Shipperley)

WORST: Leeds, Easter 1989 (0-4)

Next: Goalkeepers

BEST: Anfield, Good Friday 1968 1-2 (two from Currie, Reece, Woodwaaaaaaard)
WORST: Leeds, Easter 1989 (0-4)

That 1967-68 season was one of the best I have ever known mostly because it was when I started going to away matches.

We got to the 6th round of the FA Cup losing 1-0 to Leeds at Bellend Road. After that glorious win at Anfield (lift back home to Sheff on the team coach thrown in....), of the next and last 7 matches of the season, 5 were at home. We took only three points, one at home versus Liverpool and 2 points at Turf Moor which in those days was a fortress very similar to Anfield. We were relegated by a single point (goal average would have kept us up). Fantastic season though.

See my previous post ;)
