Norwood hands down. If we’d have signed him 2 weeks before we would have a larger pints cushion right now! Our form pre and post Norwood speaks for itself.
I want one of these pint cushions that you speak of. Actually thinking about it I’ve already got one!

All 4 are great and deserve the vote. However, it has to be Norwood if I have to choose one because I think he's the signing we would have been worst off without - as in, the gap between Norwood's performances and the player he replaced in the starrting XI, Evans(/Lundstram), is bigger than Henderson's over Moore, Egan's over Stearman and McGoldrick's over Clarke

Norwood has made a big difference and is the coutts replacement we required last season. The fact that he's been in the midfield for both Brighton and Fulham who were promoted in consecutive seasons is a really good sign.
All those players have improved us though and goes right through the spine of our team Goalkeeper, Defence, Midfield and Attack.

Why is it down to just one of those four? In fact what about every member of our squad? What we achieve is down to the whole group from top to bottom, it is a cliche I know but it is the group that holds the magic, sure some catch the eye more than others but it really is a collective effort & I believe it is central to the way CW gets his teams to play.
So you didn't understand the thread title, then?

Don`t know what a pints cushion is but I want one. Hope in my mind it`s a cushion that has pints of beer in it so when I retire from the Kop I can have a nice beer on the Library stand. Know I may well annoy others by having to got to the bogs every 10 minutes but as I will be really pissed and not sure I will care that much

I thought about this one for a good while and I have to go for John Egan.

The others all represent upgrades on last season and compliment what we’re about, but John Egan is the one we needed most. He’s getting better with every game and is leading that back line. Basham looks twice the player alongside him and is far more confident in his role. We’re just not as much of a light touch with him in the side, I’m confident we’ll deal with the simple stuff.

Last year I felt we threw so many points away needlessly. Our biggest challenge is coming up after this international break, we have the tougher teams to play in the run up to Christmas. Will be interesting to see how the back line copes with some of the division’s trickier front lines
I voted Egan too, it's not a glamour position so it's not a surprise he's not winning the poll, but I always felt the thing that was really letting us down was a solid defence. The midfield can only play positively and creatively if it isn't looking over its shoulder. With a solid defence the rest of the team, from keeper to strikers, can get on with their jobs. Egan seems to have been the missing piece.

Toss up between Henderson or Norwood but all 4 are proving to be fantastic signings.
I’ve chosen Henderson as that’s a more vital position.

I've changed my mind 4 times, and agree with nearly every comment on this thread. Could make a case for each player.

I did of course understand it, but better to judge after 46 games over the season than just 12 games. If we had struggled in every game & Henderson had a string of MoM awards he will likely be in front. If McG had scored 14 goals already he would get the votes, but the sample size is too small to make informed opinions. My view is they have all done very well & on balance I would possibly go for Egan, but McG & Norwood have arguably made his job easier by better defending from the front, thereby reducing his workload. I am sorry but I just don't think it as simple as "who is the best new signing."

Easy it’s Norwood!

When we were linked with him, I thought we had zero chance of signing him. He is easily Wilder’s best signing and United’s best signing in years.

It is a simple poll asking who people think is the best of the four so far. Choosing one doesn't imply the other three haven't been any good. Your first complaint brought the other squad members into it, which isn't what the question asked, and now you say "it" isn't as simple as "who is the best new signing". What is "it" ? No one is asking whether the success so far is down to one of these four alone. Just simply, which one of them do people think was the best signing. It really is that simple. You're making it way over-complicated.
(I also went for Egan).

Norwood by a nose.

McGoldrick is the bargain of the summer.

Henderson is the loan signing of the summer.

Egan is the best record club transfer signing and also solid as fuck... Of the summer

That sprint today in the first half when they hoofed it up said it all for me.

Proper player, solid as fuck.

It's just about these four we signed this summer about who has been our best summer signing so far

Norwood for me...just...He made us tick again. I was worried we’d started this season like we ended last season. Almost but not quite good enough. And then along comes Norwood and we play like angels again.

But what a superb transfer window, when we’ve got four excellent players to choose from. Let’s hope our next four signings have as big an impact.

Now, where can I get me one of them pints cushions?

Think it says everything about all four when McGoldrick is bottom of the poll.

Four fantastic signings.

We need to enjoy Dean Henderson whilst we can, because there is absolute no chance we can sign him permanently at the minute, and he will go on and become England’s number one, and Manchester United’s first choice goalkeeper, he is that good and will only get better.

Think it's been said by fans, players and management there are no big time Charlie's and I totally agree, non of the above are the best brought in this summer, they have all added something and contributed to an unbelievable first few games, long may it continue. UTB

Norwood is class, we haven’t had a midfield player that covers as much ground since Monty but this one can pass.

McGoldrick is smooth and reminds me of A Warnock style striker that will give his all.

Since the glorious Bassett days we’ve struggled to ever have 2 keepers that are good now we have 2, love how he can do short and long ball if required.

Egan - solid as a rock money well spent

You’re being naughty again....

That is something I am accused of by my circle of friends quite regularly so I am willing to concede to you on that one.

Norwood, 100%. Season changed when he came in. He fixed the midfield problem (which we'd been carrying since Coutts got injured) and is a creative player, at top end Championship level.

Norwood and I don't think it's close.

Our form nosedived without Coutts and I had no idea how we'd find or afford a player so influential to replace him.

Without holding the ball so well we'd have leaked a lot more goals and scored a lot fewer.
