The first Admiral® shirt 1975/1976 is my favourite, the illustration is wrong as the badge (then the Sheffield Coat of Arms) was embroidered on it wasn't a shield shaped 'patch'. Also the airtex (ish) cloth was better than anything since, the cut (an ordinary not raglan sleeve as is currently employed) suited the stripes better, the numbers were black and shiny (think classic 1970s Australia RL top) and the detail of the crew-neck alternating black, red and white rings was beautiful. I think it was the last time clothing designers actually thought about improving a kit rather than just changing it to sell more shirts to kids and gullible men.
Not that I pay any attention like....

This was the away-kit that year, obvious allusions to Peru.(the best kit ever?) The Black Tracksuit that year was also fantastic, can anyone find a photo of that please?

But hang on a bit. This (poor quality sorry) shows that strip with a crap patch badge. Seeing as Keith Eddy and a few others don't even have badges, it looks like an ultra rare (never worn in anger?) pre-production patch up job just for the pre-season photo. The trainer? on the left has an example of the black-tracksuit on.

Our best shirt in my life time was red and white striped

Had a No 10 on the back; no sponsers on the front

And was worn by a Mr A Currie

End of.
