This is a hard one. Basically because the only player who played more than a handful of games is McMahon. Hmmmm.

Notes on the players:

Camm: reserve midfielder. Never played a first team game.

Ward: bit part forward from the Academy. Had come on as sub as 38 in the last game of 00-01 and made a couple of appearances as 29 in 01-02.

Baum: reserve midfielder who never played a first team game.

Wood: reserve midfielder. Had been on the bench in one game as 37 in 02-03. Wore 29 in 03-04 but never played a game.

Gerrard: was 3rd choice goalie as 29 in the PL season. Had been 25 in 03-04 on loan and was to be 25 again in 07-08.

Horsfield: played a couple of times in the League Cup as 29 in 07-08. Had been 30 whilst on loan in 05-06.

Robertson: came on as sub as 29 in the League Cup thrashing at Arsenal in 08-09. That was his only appearance that season and he was then 39 in 09-10.

I'm going for Black. This is serious dross, but he looked a bit useful when on loan in early 04-05.

I think the only appropriate result for this is to leave the answer blank. Votes for any of those listed should be disregarded as joke votes, using Darren's arbitrary criteria for what is considered serious.

None of them deserve a place in any 'best squad'.

Who would have thought that Darren's squad votes would end up mirroring the issues with our Parliamentary systems?

My don't-let-McMahon-in tactical vote went to Tommy Black too.

I abstain. I'm worried about the ever increasing wage bill anyway.
No club needs more than around 24 players in the squad and none of that lot deserves a shirt.

Tommy Black was a decent player who sadly never amounted to much. Still contributed more than McMahon ever has
