Apart from lifting the trophy, for me it was seeing Wilder, use his ballboy experience and run, actually sprint into the Chesterfield bench to retrieve the ball. I've seen him punch the badge 100x, but I've never seen a manager sprint for the ball like that before. One little gesture just showed how much he loves his job and the club.

Best manager I've seen in my lifetime. Not hard to be fair but he beats Warnock by at least 100pts :D

He'll probably won't see this. But I just wanted to say thank you Sir Chris Wilder of Sheffield United, and I can only guess this is what winning the premier league feels like.

UTC!!!

Have a good one

Wilder running to the ball boy, picking him up and spinning him around.

Third goal, 100 points.

The same Warnock who took us from certain relegation and financial ruin to the premiership and two cup semi finals? I love Wilder but he hasnt yet come close to equaling what Warnock did for us, so not sure how its 'not hard' that he beats him.

At that point it was 2-2 and he was desperate to get the 3rd. More indicative of his attitude was him jumping to catch a ball at 3-2 up to allow us to take a quick throw. My guess is he loves the game and that transmits to his players which is a factor in his success.

Turning up to the ground and posing with my two grown up sons for a selfie and to see our team succeed for the first time together. Since they were 5 years old I've taken them to see many failures at the last hurdle or get up second place but never as the undisputed champions. Several times I ignored the footy and just revelled in the presence of my sons at BDTBL. :) GreasyChipBeattie's moving piece made me and I'm sure many other sons (daughters) and dads reflect on being lucky enough to be there and share the moment.

pretty well known fact that in 99 when he took over the club was in bad financial state, relegation would have been a disaster.

The club wouldn't have been in any more of a parlour state than it had been before.

Warnock dragged us out of the rekegation zone but he didn't save the club from financial ruin.

He did a great job of raising funds by player sales to set off his rebuilding. No doubt about that.

Just reminded me, there's a goal scored at the kop end, I'm sure it's a late winner, maybe Freeman v Northampton and a United player (Duffy maybe) grabs a nearby ball boy and picks him up to join in with the celebrations.

Can't recall much of that last season, goals, nevermind joyous celebrations with everyone involved.

Parlous :(

I presume that a rekegation is a more parlous form of relegation too?
:)

Nearly died laughing when the Chesterfield bench let the ball role through them as if wasting time made a halfpeth (nice) of difference to all and sundry, at least Wilder appreciated that 31,000 people had come to watch a match. It was also Chesterfields attempt to waste time that resulted in the sending off

Best moment was seeing us lift a trophy. Only the 2nd time I've ever seen that.

I thought we didn't play particularly well. I thought the crowd was very quiet. And I thought the parade at the end took far too long. Must have been 45 minutes after the end of the game before the players actually got round to our part of the stand to let us have a good close up look at that trophy. And by the time we got to see it, the rest of the ground was almost empty. Never mind. We'll have 12 months now to work out how to do it better before the next one.

You could always have left if you were bored. Sigh.

Only the second Trophy we have won in my lifetime and I can't remember much about the Div 4 trophy, more time to savour this one as it has been coming for a few weeks, much better without the nerves been like a party lasting for weeks. I have never seen anything like it.

It was just the feeling of nothing to worry about, I know it's been done and dusted for a couple of weeks but I woke up knowing that today is the final day in this horrible league. No play-off's to worry about, no final day victory required, nothing. We would be lifting the trophy and just having a good time no matter what happened.

The players just wanted to savour the scenes as long as possible.
It was an hour after the game before they got round to where we were sat, but that wasn't really a problem was it?! We had the rest of the afternoon and evening to enjoy it, party. a whole summer to reminisce.
How dull are weekends going to be, now its all over........ (It's a rhetorical question)?
