Spackman won 6 and drew 4 in his first 10, I'd be happy if Heck beats that!

Brilliant start from Hecky. No idea on the stats but the change Kendal got was instant and significant.

We drew the five first games under Kendall. We beat Arsenal, but that was the only win in his nine first games. After that we did well.

Wilson 6 wins, 3 draws, 1 defeat in his first 10.

One of the draws was also a cup match we won on penalties.

I think Clough had a rocky start, I seem to remember losing at Crewe 3-0 in the New Year and still being in or around the bottom 3 or 4 a couple of months after he came in.

The season turned around with (ironically) that 1-0 win at Fulham and the 10 game winning run in all comps that followed.

Best thing is how much more solid we look and the shape of the team. It's almost as if the players have been working with Hecky and the coaches on team shape and positioning and everyone knowing what their job is. He and his team have only been here 5 mins but its like night and day with the team structure, confidence and effort compared to Slavs bedraggled numpties that were slow to break and couldn't keep a clean sheet to save their lives.

Maybe due to my age at the time couple with the huge what if of that era but the short Spackman era was my favourite blades spell

Happy to admit I've been proved wrong. I was against the decision to part ways with Slav and I would have given him at least a transfer window or a full season but so far it has been the right move.
