Best goalkeepers in the championship

Just seems Shay Givens comments about his four best goalkeepers in the championship so I wondered what everyone thought on here about it. In my genuine, non biased opinion.

1. Jack Butland
2. Dean Henderson
3. Kiko Casilla
4. Darren Randolph

I would rank Johnsone at West Brom very highly as well.

Deano is definitely in the top 3.

Pigs are convinced Westwood is the best. I would rank him 5th or 6th at most.

They have given Hendo great protection

Hendo has been very good when called upon - he hasn't had an awful lot to do. Best game by far? probably the millers away.

34 goals concede all season - 2nd only to the depressing Pullisball defence (they've only scored 40 btw).

The devils advocate question - would you want him as no 1 next season in the Prem if we go up?

Deano has been a great shot stopper. Still not totally convinced by him with crosses. Had a very good season overall so far.

I didn't realise how good Darren Randolph was until I saw him in the flesh this weekend, incredible reaction save to deny Gibraltar. I have to agree that Sam Johnstone, I'd throw in Bialkowski and Declan Rudd for honourable mentions.

I’d have him yes FB. I think that the fact that he’s generally come up with the goods when he hasn’t had much to do is the sign of a good keeper even though I accept that he’s still learning his trade.

Henderson’s shot stopping is impressive but he has a weakness regards decision making
Eg. when to come out for crosses or whether to stay on his line, whether to punch or catch a cross.

However decision making tends to improve with age and experience., let’s not forget Henderson is only young so no where near his prime. He’s currently one of the best in the Championship but in s few years he could be one of the best in the PL.

Top 4 (in no particular order)
Dean Henderson (Sheffield United): prone to the occasional bout of overconfidence but generally a very good goalkeeper
Sam Johnstone West Brom): see Dean Henderson. Potential to be a Premier League keeper but can be found too far off his line occasionally
Darren Randolph (Middlesbrough): solid second tier keeper. Not quite at the level of the very best keepers in the division but 5th place Boro reflect Randolph's ability
Declan Rudd (Preston): not sure why Norwich let Rudd go - he's better than Krul

Thoughts on the other top half keepers:
Tim Krul (Norwich): absolute bombscare with the ball at his feet and his decision making leaves a lot to be desired
Kiko Casilla (Leeds): decent all-round keeper but can commit too soon (cf Basham's goal)
Aston Villa - Lovre Kalinic: they had to replace Nyland who reminds me of Mark Bunn with his inability to stop long range efforts. Kalinic is a decent keeper - see Randolph
Derby - Scott Carson: best years well behind him; makes Krul look like Messi with the ball at his feet
Bristol City - Niki Mäenpää - Finnish international; solid second tier keeper
Them - Kieran Westwood: good mid-table Championship keeper (being paid a Premiership wage...arf)
Forest - Costil Pantilimon: probably the tallest keeper in the Championship (6'8") but that leaves problems dealing with low shots (same as Blackman for us last season)
Humberside JC - David Marshall: best days definitely behind him but their backup is George Long.
Birmingham - Lee Camp: how did he ever get to Manchester United?!

Putting Deano in the top 2/3 is a bit ambitious I think. He is an excellent shot-stopper but crosses can catch him out and a good few times shots have bounced back off him and into danger. Casila Is a decent keeper, as is Johnstone for WBA

Deano is starting to get the title of 'shot stopper' but I think that's really unfair.
His handling, distribution and kicking are very good as well.
We are starting to take the confidence he gives to the entire side for granted.

His biggest area of improvement has to be his decision making but that will obviously come with age and experience

A really good strength of Henderson which shouldn’t be underestimated is confidence and strength of character.

The guy is a winner and that winning mentality will often positively influence players around him.
