My first ever game at BDTBL

Sept 1970

3-0 down v Bristol City - can’t back to draw 3-3 in last 20 mins - the rest is history
thats the game i always remember as our best ever comeback unbelievably 3 down then mr tudor did the damage think he got 2 of our 3 goals

The Forest game was a different level altogether, given the importance of the match.

I was at the Wigan game and I can assure you that it didn't feel that good. We had been dire in the first half and half of the away support were chanting "We're fucking shit, we're fucking shit, we're fucking shit...". Somehow Wigan caught our shit disease and managed to be inept enough to let Billy do what Billy does best.

It really wasn't a wonder comeback with all the fans buzzing and leaving the ground happy. Adkins was still shit and it barely papered over the cracks, but with shitty extra thin paper and big deep cracks.

I was listening to that Wigan match on RS and remember not having the normal buzz of a comeback, purely because we were so shit as you said and that season was meh.

The 3 goals we gave away were a shambles too.
I was also at the Wigan game. It was amazing that we weren't already about 6-0 down by the time we scored our first! As suggested we were fucking awful for 75 minutes and then Wigan decided to try and play even worse than us! To cap a thoroughly odd game, Billy almost snatched the most unlikely winner right at the death.

For late comebacks, I recall a couple from the 4th Division. Weren't we 3-2 down at York with about 10 minutes left and won 4-3? I vividly remember listening to our game at Northampton on the radio in the days where there were just regular reports and no live commentary. With 7 minutes remaining we were 1-0 down and I remember the reporter saying how poor we were and didn't look like scoring. When they went back a minute before the end of the game, Mike Trusson had scored twice and we won 2-1.

Oldham zenith data systems cup. 2nil down after about 12 mins 2 all at halftime. Won 8v2. Cold, empty and foggy. 1990?

The Forest game is the best comeback I've seen but I also remember a 3-2 win over Preston in the Warnock era.

Preston went 2-0 up and were chanting "are you Wednesday in disguise".

In the 2nd half Paul Devlin really got at them and when we went 3-2 up our fans were now chanting it back at them.

Interesting that this chant is clearly known throughout football as an insult

Back to the forest game and it was enjoyable to turn around their "2-0 to the football team" chant. They choked on that later in the game

It wasnt an important game but in terms of comebacks the best one I've ever seen we were 0-2 down at home to Oldham in what was then I think the zenith data systems cup, and ended up winning 7-2 it was in the bassett years I think it was the first season in div 1 well before we had won a league game

7-2 I was there that night , we beat forest in league just after for first league win

And me. About 50 people walked past me on the kop after we concided the second. So empty had the crowd amplified through the tannoy.

Notts County away FA Cup (Jan'99....I've now looked it up) 3-1 down with 5 minutes left, away end empties pretty rapidly. Two goals in the last 5 minutes, away end starts to refill again.
Marcelo winner in extra time plus Wayne Quinn getting red carded livens things up a bit.
I was at that game….oh my goodness what a game it was…..

I can't believe no one has mentioned 'a quality goal from a quality player'.
TCs goal capping a 0-1, 1-1, 1-2, 2-2, 3-2 comeback and comeback again against Wet Sham, early 70s.
