I said over a week ago he would leave and I said that the straw that broke the camels back was Lingard. The issue at the start of the season was not getting Davies in when there was no interest from anyone but the board wouldn’t sanction the move. Essentially along with the signings and someone to cover O’Connell we wouldn’t be in this shit.

and I personally support the board for not throwing more money at a problem that one signing could not fix.

I'll admire and respect CW for everything he did with financial constraints tying his hands down. But as soon as those ties were cut, he made mistakes which would be forgivable if it wasn't for his petulant behaviour towards the Owners in recent media interviews.

My regret here is that PA and CW couldn't have come to an agreement for a vision of the club where CW remained Manager. My guess would be that the stubbornness factor was 50/50 both sides and not the "the club has no ambition or doesn't support me" rhetoric that seems to be thrown about.

Absolutely agree,it is virtually impossible to establish the club in the premiership unless you are prepared to pay the wages that the top players demand.We have paid big transfer fees for players whose wages fit our structure,unfortunately they are simply not good enough at the top level.

We'll see. We could make a smart appointment, and keep hold of our best players. Of course, it could go the other way. I'm not confident.

I think chances of keeping our best players have been rudely lessened
