This one is only for the brave or the foolish , as you may be assured that a certain member will be watching it very , very closely ............ :)

I painted myself into a corner by selecting Deane and Sharp first and then trying to work backwards.

Because they both had three spells at the club it's impossible to find a recognised midfielder who didn't play with one of them (or Michael Brown) from 1988 to 2015.

I came very close with David White, Mark Patterson, Andy Liddell and Paul Ifill but in the end I was going insane so chucked Keith Eddy in.

I think the best solution to this is to ignore the Blades legends and long serving players and go with those who had explosive short spells.

From players I’ve seen.

Rees

Craig Short
Dellas
Maguire

Wilder
Coutts
Cowans
McCall
Woodhouse

Flo
Mousset

Though now I’ve written that I wonder if Woodhouse and Wilder featured together under Thompson...

So start with Lee Baxter and John Ebrell as they both only contaminated 10 others in their explosive 1 half of football!

If it was a game I suppose the winner would be the person who could build a team with the most combined league appearances.

So for example you could have Joe Shaw who holds the club record for appearances but you would wipe out pretty much every other player from 1945 to 1966

Bit difficult this one.

Alan Hodgkinson
Paul Garner
Harry Maguire
Olivier Tebily
Dave Tuttle
Keith Eddy
Andy Reid
Michael Brown
Peter Beagrie
Brian Deane
Billy Sharp

During the 1975-6 season Garner and Eddy played together against Leicester x 2, Ipswich, Spurs, Man Utd, Derby, Newcastle, Middlesbro and Coventry.

Good effort though. Better than I could manage!

On a side note. That season was dreadful. We achieved our first league victory of the season on 23rd September against Burnley. We did not win a game in any competition from that date until 9th February, when we beat......................our nearest and dearest 2-0 in the CC.
