Besic recall to Everton?

Looks like Gomes is going to be out for quite a while, and Everton will need cover in midfield.

Even before the injury people were calling for Besic to come back into their team anyway as lacking some bite and desire in the middle of the park.

How would we feel about Besic going back to Everton? Not featured much but we would probably need him towards the middle/later part of the season at some point.

Do we need to look at recruiting another Central midfielder? Or are we ok? Up until now i would have said it wasnt a priority.

He hasn't had a look in due to the form of the current three, but the fact is he offers something different in there, a bit of bite, pace, doesn't mind a tackle and can even run with the ball. If Everton choose to recall, there's little we can do, but we should be looking to keep him in the squad if we can, imo.

He can't be recalled until January and only then if there was a recall option inserted into the season long loan. He will have a part to play in a very congested December schedule as will all the other fringe players like L. Freeman, Osborn and Jagielka.

Wish him the best, but Gomes won't be that big a loss from what I've seen of him. Think they have enough not to need Besic back.

Let's hope this doesn't happen! Huge today, just what we need for defending a lead. (Could of been useful against manure) defended well, broke up play and transitioned ball into attack on odd occasion too. Gonna be reyt useful in second half of season.

I think "huge" may be a bit of an overstatement, but he did impress. Not afraid to carry the ball, put himself about & kept it simple in possession. Solid performance, great to see.
