That's the type of game you sign players like that for

Nothing to gain, huge game, you can't do anything but fail. He came out smelling of roses.

What a player he is, just a shame it's 3/4 years later than we would've wanted him.

He lead to a game where they hadn't but a sniff. And that's being kind.

That back 4 might pull us out of trouble. Impressive.

I've not been overly impressed, but that was really good today. I hope he keeps it up.

I think Mee’s a very competent player at the level and is also very fit. An oddly astute signing.

For those old enough to remember, reminds me of Paul McGrath, knows where the ball is going to be so doesn’t seem to break a sweat

That moment in 1st half when he was in our 6yd box and was cool as, passed it out rather than leather it was class

Top signing on a free

I agree he's a top signing on a free, but McGrath was a different level. He could barely walk when he signed for us yet his game management was something else.

Unreal how good he was as reading the game. He couldn’t run , couldn’t train , just show up on the day and play and be the player of the match!

I believe he had one poor game , was it QPR at home? Where they used there pace to get the better of him. But he was have been unbelievable in his prime

Yes , he was poor in that game and he admitted it afterwards in the dressing room.

He's going to be a big miss, presumably for a few weeks?

Typically, McGuiness comes in and exceeds everyone's expectations with one of the most dominant CB performances I have seen for 45 minutes, only to go off injured himself.

Bindon did really well, but the game was already done and dusted. This is a huge week coming up for the young lad.

Not only did he not train, but certainly when he was at Villa his pre match routine involved several pints of beer. I was told this by one of his long term colleagues in the Villa defence at the time, who is a mate of mine.

Read the game so well though , Rolls Royce centre back was

Who is our back up CB on the bench Tuesday?

How would we reshuffle if another had to go off injured I wonder. Souza used to be an emergency option but don't think we have anyone who 'could do a job'.

I expect we might see Zätterström on the bench as cover, if McGuiness isn't fit.

And maybe McCallum could move to CB at a push. Decent in the air and doesn't get bullied off the ball easily.

Beyond that, I am unsure unless Ridewald could do a job there.

On Saturday as I was assessing our defensive options going forward, I said to my mate, "What was the name of that young Scandinavian kid we signed" A young blond haired kid who was sat 1 gangway and 2 seats to the right off me looks at me, and said "Me" and starts laughing. It was Zatterstom. 🤣

I assume you replied ‘Nah, Mee’s the one that came from Brentford’ 🤣
