Would be happy with this signing. Totally get it's not the 'profile ' of player we are after these days but you need some experience to help bring on the younger players, they can't all be early 20's signings and expected to flourish with no experience around them to help when things get tuff.

Completely agree and particularly as we're missing his type at the back. Could help develop a youngster(s) in the squad too.
 
Would be a commanding presence at the back that we are desperately in need of.

I'd be very happy to get him on a one-year deal, to pair alongside Anel or Bindon.

Played and captained at PL level for many years. That sort of experience is worth its weight in gold

If Robbo is indeed leaving then yes, trying to get BM to come in as 4th choice CB would be ideal.

But getting a 4th choice CB is one of those things where it's easier said than done (same with a 3rd choice GK).

Basically you're telling a potential signing that they're just here to make up the numbers and might have a 5-10% chance of actually playing a game for us.

Unless you've got large, bloated squads, most 4th choice defenders (any defensive position) and 3rd choice keepers are usually just academy players, who might play 2-3 times all season.

Can't imagine many players would be happy to come here in those circumstances, even if they get a decent signing on fee and a years worth of wages.

I think he'd play a fair amount. Often in these situations you have players looking to do their coaching badges, so it works out for both parties.
 
By this is the state COH have put us in where we are even talking about 2 players the Pigs can’t sign!!!!
 
As long as he's fit (and close to being match fit) and his legs haven't gone, he could be a shrewd signing - he's certainly the type missing from the squad / team at the moment, even more so if / when JLT departs.
 
Would really add to experience of the CB club if we are going with him, Bindon, Thomas and Zätterström.

If he's happy to player a more father figure role and not play every game to help develop the others, this signing would be absolutely spot on 👌

Won't be particularly cheap to sign a Premier League defender even aged 35. So they can't be skint.
