Why would he sign for a relegation fight?
Because he'll hopefully look at the squad having trained with them and think they should be much higher.

He'll see that he'll have a big role to play on the pitch and in the dressing room. Turning 36 he'll want to play and be involved i assume.

What we don't know is what other options he may have.

Correct, but he's been here to find that out and still not signed???

I assume Mee might be waiting for the window to close when what he can ask for will increase?

Yeah, and we ll thought we'd be up there now, but its not worked out that way.....

Not after selling Souza who was probably the best midfielder in the division, Anel, losing all of the loans and not replacing any of them we didn’t. It’ll take time but at least we’ve brought a few in now.

So your confident in Selles then?

He may be activley looking elsewhere after yesterday. Can't blame him either.

At his stage of career, I suspect he is more concerned about the contract being right and whether Sheffield is an attractive location for 12-24 months max.

He has been around the block enough times to know that Selles' days are probably numbered now, without a dramatic turnaround and there is every chance he will be playing for another manager, if he signs. He will also look at this squad and know it should be doing better.

Not confident, no. But at the same time I’m not saying it’s as black and white as “it’s been shit so far (which it has), get rid.”

We started the season with a wank squad having sold two of our three decent players. We always leave it until the last minute to make our signings meaning they take another few weeks to either get match fit or familiarise with how they’re meant to play. I don’t have to be confident in Selles to think four games is a bit soon to be getting rid, when we’ve only just started making some decent signings. For me, the main culprits for the shit start are whoever is in charge of signings.

Or whoever is in charge of the tactics, which simply don't work.

Lads from sale so can prob commute

I think this is very much a Robbo has to be gone first before we put the seal on this.

We've offered him a contact-I know how much a week but don't want to say as it may out the person that told me. All I will say Is that I personally, think it's a good offer. He's not happy with the offer at the minute. That could be any we're looking at the Luton CB

I'm guessing at the age he is, he might be angling for a 2 year deal and we might only be offering a year. Who knows, but be good if we could sign him, I'd rather him than McGuinness
