One of them is our most committed and best performing centre half.

The other is a useless tosspot who needs his bollocks chopping off with a rusty spoon on the kop in penalty spot.

The wrong one was selected today.

Bring in Robinson and Bash if fit for the remaining games.
Davies was poor today but so much better than Uremovic. JLT playing out of position is miles better than Uremovic. I called Mcburnie being wank after 3 appearances and I'm calling the same on him. Can tackle. That's it.

I was going to post something very similar to the OP straight after the game but logged off because I was so wound up at what had just happened. Robinson makes the odd calamitous mistake, we all know that, but apart from those he usually makes a positive contribution at both ends of the pitch. Davies can’t defend, he watches the ball instead of the man, and his heading is abysmal, which is saying something in a team where we don’t have anybody who is good in the air.

I have a nasty feeling that we are compelled to play him if he is fit, per the terms of his loan agreement, as I can’t see why he keeps getting picked ahead of Robinson if not.

Has Klopp got some Jedi mind trick hold over SUFC or summat??!!

Had £20m off us cash, and a loan fee and paying the wages of this lad

Imagine Klopp when he goes back, and in pre season he’s playing in the 11v11 against Salah, Mane, Fermino and jota - poor cunt

Davies is one of the worst players I've seen in red and white stripes, weak and lacking in everything a defender/footballer should have. That free header he made a complete cock up of last week summed him up for me.

Think you're harsh on Uremovic. He didn't have a good half though he still competed and he's still adapting to a new team. He gave the ball away a bit but that is often because nobody is showing for it.

Davies was instrumental in both goals. How did he and Egan between them fail to get a tackle on Joao? It was such a telegraphed move. At the end he just let the guy win the header. But then again the whole team assumed someone else would clear it and we'd go on the attack. Totally forgot to do their jobs as a collective.

The only thing I can think of is he must have a clause in his loan that if he is fit we have to play him. JLT has shown a vast improvement recently yet is out of the team as soon as the weak as piss Davies is fit. JLT has had some poor games but he is way better than Davies who just slows the whole team down that is when he is not ball watching. At fault for both goals yesterday and a terrible signing I hope to never ever see him pull on a United shirt again.

At least with JLT he commits. Yeah he might fuck up and yeah we’ll moan about it when he does, but he commits to things and gives 100%. Davies skirts around everything.

We need 100% commitment and importantly bollocks from all of them, it was missing in buckets yesterday

Davies looks like he is scared to injure himself. Robbo gets stuck in.

Uremovic was not at fault for any goals. Davies was weak on both.
I've never said otherwise although the first goal possibly came from his initial pass being intercepted. He's shown his inability to pass the ball well over the last two games. Davies had a stinker yesterday and struggles with strong centre forwards but he's streets in front of Uremovic on current showing. Our fans desperation to exclaim how good players are after a couple of games is laughable. We did the same with Goode.

You seem to underrate how important defending is for a defender.

There was a point in the 2nd half when we were pushing everyone forward and Davies got the ball with acres of space in front of him.

Instead of driving forward with the ball, he literally walked forward with the ball... slowing everything downnnnnnn.

Like others have said, JLT all day every day for me, he may make an error but at least he gives 110%.... Davies looks like he barely breaks a sweat.

Not at all, it's the most important aspect. However, time moves on Dave Watson and Terry Butcher wouldn't survive in today's game. He needs to improve his passing game based on the evidence so far.

Wouldn't survive? Would they have to play non-league?

Give me a defender who can defend over one who can’t any day of the week

Never suggested otherwise. My preference is for one that can defend and pass a ball. I'm not a stats geek but his pass completion rate based on his time here would be interesting.

They usually play much higher than this. Also, he has very little Infront of him to pass to justify any criticism imo.

Playing at that level late 70s to mid 80s possibly lower end championship. Tackling is finished, neither would be on the pitch after 25 minutes, pace today would leave them embarrassed. It's just an opinion that can't be proven either way. We look back with rose tinted glasses but it really is a much different game these days.

Pass completion is pass completion, whether over 5 yards or 40 yards. He's not looked capable of either.

Be interesting to see who plays next game.
Largely irrelevant if McBurnie is on the pitch destroying the team ever again.
Interesting because I read that Davies was here on the basis he PLAYED when fit!!!
Hence why he was shoe horned in on the right side and then Robinson was left out?

I think you perhaps had those glasses on yesterday looking at Ben Davies. Was it the slick-backed hair that impressed you the most?

Davies has been disappointing, and yesterday Joao bullied him all game long. But aside from some better performances through January and February, I honestly don't think Robinson is that much better. He's more committed in the tackle, but there's also the potential of a goal-costing mistake in him nearly every game. We need to improve on both of these players next campaign.

I never thought I’d say this and I have been his biggest critic at times but get Jackie Long Throw starting. Yes he has a potential error in him but he is committed and I feel he’s really working on trying to cut out those errors

Have you actually read anything I've posted? Davies was poor yesterday no argument but he's shown over a period of time to be a better player than Uremovic has so far. Strange post from you really. You've always appeared to be reasonably well informed until now.

Sorry, pal. I was being light-hearted.
I don't accept that Terry Butcher with his 77 England caps can't play at the level of Ben Davies, Shaun Hutchinson and Tom Lees.

I think that's the point, he probably could. Even players like Mings, Stones and Maguire would be miles in front of him in todays money. No worries by the way, I prefer my men with short hair.😉👍
