If Cannon goes, which I think he could, then I could definitely see us in for BBD. I love Wilder but he never play him in himself s best position last season. He's half the player on the right to the left. But now we've signed Barry I'm not so sure that he'd play on the left. As a forward he could offer a lot too. I still rate him.

Yesterday's man. Good the first spell, not so good the second.

We had Hamer win the Leagues player of the year from the left, he's looked anonymous so far this season, so i'm not sure we'd have moved Hamer last season, the way he was playing on the left to accomodate BBD there when he was capable on the right as well.

From what i've seen of Barry so far, he's wasteful, so BBD would look better there on the left.

Version 1 was great but Brereton Díaz's second spell could be summed up by that shocking touch before absolutely and utterly neshing that challenge with Hume at Wembley and getting injured as a result.

We also have an expensive loanee for the wide left role already. There are far more pressing concerns given our glacial recruitment speeds.

To say how bad he looked - he averaged 248 minutes per goal.
He was our 3rd best player of the season in terms of mpg - just 1 minute behind Rak-Sakyi (another who people love to slate - we'd have been nowhere near top 3 without him)
Mpg rankings:
1st Campbell (159) 2nd Rak-Sakyi (247) 3rd Brooks (315) 4th Hamer (348)

*stats don't include the play-off games.

Id have him back if we can afford him, but as striker,.rotating with Campbell when fit. Of course he can fill in the wide positions when needed, but I would like to see the hungry aggressive centre forward.we had in the Prem. I know he has a good spell there Blackburn, but I think playing out wide is killing his career at this stage

He wasn't brilliant last season but he did score goals so he has to be a better option than the hopeless Cannon although we are still looking for free agents or Bulgarians no doubt.
I thought he was average at best last time he would fit in well again with the other 2 you mentioned .

1000% this.

Another (along with Souza, Anel and JLT) who completely bottled it when the going got tough.

Why we'd consider having him back is beyond me.

Massively out of shape last time. A cautionary tale about January recruitment, even when the signing seems a no brainer.

A man not getting any game time for his club, despite them being relegated. A man who only got gametime for us because the manager loved him. A man quoted at around £10 million who would break our wage structure.

A man who could hardly move his arse last season in a high-press system?

Yeah, great idea.

Depends on the wages and signing on package wanted. But for £4m if true, hes a steal. Better player than he showed last season where he wasnt in peak condition and he was badly utilised. Hes still potentially a fabulous player for the Championship level.
