They were outstanding and after watching this you realize the Boro players were just watching Billy ,MGW, Sander we just blew them away!

Wilder looks genuine over come i think the whole occasion got to him , fair play he may have shot off down the tunnel but he stopped their to shake hands with every Blades player until the last one off the pitch BILLYYYYYY

You can see Wilder looking visibly overawed on numerous occasions there. I think last night it really hit home to him and he’s thinking ‘what the hell have i let go here?!’

Also, clearly no love lost at all between Billy and Wilder is plain to see. Guessing numerous others felt the same too with how pumped up they were last night.

How do you mean?

To me, there seems tension there at the end and not exactly a pally embrace.
Billy also seems to pointing towards Wilders direction after his scuffle with Peltier on the touchline too but CW walks away and wants no part of it.

Could you just be me putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 but i had heard rumblings previously that they didn’t get on great towards the end and i can see that myself in the video clips.

I guess it was a bit frosty but you wouldn't hug him after the match though would you if that was the case?

At the end of Wilder's reign, it's likely that nobody got on as the losses piled up. Imagine the moral and general mood day to day, must've been awful.

There's no way that they've not moved on from then, Billy and Wilder will have huge respect for each other as they showed.

I will never understand how that summer after promotion Wilder and Knill concluded that the person that needed replacing for the first game of the season away at Bournemouth was the guy who just scored 23 league goals in 40 games to get them up.

The fact that almost 3 seasons later he is uncontestably the no 1 striker and has seen off Robinson, Burke, Mousset and has regularly been ahead this season of McBurnie, Brewster and McGoldrick is such a damning entitlement of the reading of how to deploy limited resources.

He probably feels very disappointed not to have been given more derby minutes and to be given the thanks but no thanks for the first game of the season and even Wilder suggesting that Billy will dictate the terms he leaves this football club, as if he could basically go. Yet 2 years later, here he still stands.

Maybe that is where there could be some disappointment; Wilder succeeding on the back of Billy's goals and then jettisoning him at the first opportunity.

Apparently in his interview after game he was emotional when asked about his reception and wouldn't say too much about it

Do you have a link? I've been trying to find the post match interview
Try bbc sport tees. There local media.
I know someone who was in the interviews and said when asked about his reception he was choked up so wouldn't say much about it and just wanted to get to next question

That 'hug' looked a bit brief, and looked like Wilder pulled him into it rather than the other way around.
Maybe not the time for it. Billy was clearly still hyped after the game and wanted to get to the dressing room with his team mates.
Which, to be fair, is where Wilder should have been (with his own players)
