Just on the OS:

James Beattie insists he is happy to be at Bramall Lane, and despite continued speculation about his future the striker says his focus is with the Blades.

Beattie has been linked in several national newspapers with moves back to the Premiership, but the twenty-one goal marksman is refusing to be drawn on the conjecture:

"I am happy here and have been since signing in the summer. I have played under two managers and both of them have showed me the utmost respect.

"I want to play in the Premiership, but I feel I can do that with Sheffield United and the main aim for me at the moment is to be enjoying my football, which I am after what happened last season at Everton.

"I know there will be plenty of rumours in the summer, but there has been for most of my career. Until Mr McCabe or the Gaffer tells me otherwise I am contracted here for another three years, so it really is just paper talk.

"I have learnt to deal with it and not get too excited about any possible interest. It is my job to score goals here and I have done that this season.

"When I came here last summer under Bryan Robson the aim was to get this club straight back to the Premiership. That hasn't worked out for whatever reason, but our improvements over the last few months show we have the ability to do that next season."

That to me says he knows we fucked up, and that Blackie has done well but they aint no chance of getting in the play-off's and going up. To be honest, even if he doesn't beleive so, he could atleast say we have a chance lol, Blackie has, and I think they players should not stop fighting until the final whistle on the 4th of May, and believe we have a chance until then. However I'm very glad to hear he is happy here down at the lane, and his goal spell may never fade until he leaves :)

Because he hasn't said we still have a chance in the article it doesn't mean he won't be trying. Every player will go out to win and hope for the best.

Blackie says it because he's the manager and he wants to get the team going but there is a real outside chance of it happening.

Aye that's why i said even if he doesn't beleive so he should still say it. I haven't seen any player not trying under Blackie, they have all played to a pretty good standard in my opinion.
