According to The Sun ():

JAMES BEATTIE has pledged the rest of his career to Sheffield United.
The former England hitman, 30, has been linked with a £5million move to Aston Villa, Middlesborough or Sunderland when the January transfer window opens.
But Beattie said "My long-term future is here and I'd be happy to finish my career at Sheffield United". "I came here to do a job - get us back in the top flight - and hopefully that's what we shall do".

double post... but here's more....

My long term future is here and I would be happy to finish my career at Sheffield United. I am happy that the club is happy with me and I have no plans to go anywhere.

"I came here to do a job – get us back in the Premier League – and hopefully this season that is what we shall do.

"The gaffer keeps on telling me that I am going nowhere and that suits me fine. I am more than happy with that. Why would I want to leave for another club anyway?

"I have three years left on my contract and my aim is to see that out with this club established in the Premier League. We are all geared up for Premier League football and there is no question that the squad here has the ability and talent to make it.

"I have been lucky throughout my career to be with clubs who have all had really good sets of players. There have been no bad eggs and no bitchiness anywhere I have been.

"I count myself very lucky here to have another set of good and talented lads. They are people you can rely on to help you out when things are not going well on the pitch.

"I have never been happier anywhere and promotion would be the icing on the cake for me this season. We want to go up automatically and there is a belief here that we can do it this season."
