4-5-1 at home? Come on Danny. I don't often criticise our manager but we didn't even attempt to apply any pressure for 80 mins. You don't win promotion with such a cautious approach to home games. They had nothing to offer and were more than happy to accept the easy point we gave them. Very frustrated with that display.

Agree - far too negative again today. Painfully slow as usual too - until Forte & Poleon came on. We were the better team but created little. Very poor at home this season.

Sorry guys but don't agree. I thought we were positive today and passed the ball well at times against a side who seemingly played most of the game not wanting to attack. We got players forward and supported Kitson. Had width and used it.

The problem we had was the lack of movement in the box when we got players wide and the lack of players taking responsibility to take a shot.

The only critisism I would have today would be not substituting Robson at the same time Murphy went off.I though Robson played well for about 60 minutes then started losing the ball as mis-placing passes and I would have possibly brought Macfadzean on for him so we could keep our shape

Lack of quality down the flanks restricts us from getting behind the defense and means we have to play in a crowded midfield when teams come to play for a point and stiffle us.
Probably we need to go for it first thing but then we might be exposed somewhat in the middle.
Down to Danny to make the decision but the pattern is being repeated now at most home games.
It will be very nervy now until the season ends.
This lack of being able to win at home might mean the play offs again.

I hope Wilson is going to stop blaming the fans and take a good hard look at himself. His sole objective is not to get beat. He cares more about not getting beat than trying to win. What the fuck was bringing Poleon on for a few minutes likely to achieve? He should have been on at HT for the ineffectual, clapper's darling Flynn. Another fucking 2 points wasted after a decent effort put in by most of the team.

At the minute we look like another home win is beyond us. Each time we've played at home following a huge boost like going top or this time Donny get thumped mid-week we've been toothless at best (today, Vs Orient) and woeful at worst (Hartlepool). Bloody bottle jobs.

Anyone remember who Donny got thumped by?

A team who previously went, what, 9 games without a win? One swallow does not make a summer and one great result does not make MK Dons contenders. Believe you me, if we fail to go up this season people will point to the failure to put away teams like MK Dons, County, Orient and Hartlepool at home. All teams who are going to finish miles away from us in the final standing. Most coming off the back of what should have been a huge boost for us, too.

Which surely means that we are the second best team in the league does it not?

Poor result for me today and a chance to get 3 points wasted, but we certainly aren't the only "bottle jobs" in the top 10.

That's the Hartlepool that drew with Yeovil today is it?

Yes, we probably are the second best team in the League, but then we thought that for large stretches of last season and we all know how that turned out. Many, including myself, point to the Oldham home game as being key, 2-0 against a team we'd pissed all over on the opening day of the season and we throw it away so emphatically that we basically abdicated any chance of winning at Walsall the following Tuesday too! And that isn't just revisionist, I recall one poster saying if we don't go up this year, that Oldham game will haunt me.

I look at the string of poor results against mid table no-hoppers this year and I can't help but be reminded of Oldham.

By the by, I was on Moorfoot after the match as Blades walked past me and I distinctly hear 'Kinross'. Made me think of this place.

Hartlepool who had won, what, once before we played them? There results have taken a definite upturn since, but when we played them we were top, they were bottom and we were at home. Nothing can make that result look good.

No you're right and it was a bad performance, but Yeovil are flying and could only manage a nil nil . It's a funny old poor league, with not much between most teams, in results if not talent.

I'm afraid to say Danny Wilson got it all wrong yesterday. The formation shouldn't have been used at home. Is it 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1? Either way, I'm not sure Robson is a support player for Kitson. Had he had Murphy or Forte up alongside him I'm sure we would've won.

Robson should have been taken off earlier. If he didnt want to take him off then surely he could see we needed to go more direct and 4-4-2. Push Murphy up top and drop Robson out right.

Can't believe it took until <10mins to go to actually push for the winner.

I can understand playing like that Away but not at Home

Most boring football since Robson?

Yes, but to be fair I thought it was better yesterday. It appeared more positive to me, but with one man up front, and Flynn "supplying" the ammo, we are always going to struggle to really put meaningful pressure on.

Our biggest problem is and has always been this season that our fullbacks don't overlap. McMahon is simply pathetic in his attempts to get over the half way line. Overlaps create more space yet we want to lambast our wingers every fucking week because they have to do it alone. This alone would make us more positive irrespective of our formation up top. I thought it was a good performance up to the last 3rd, yet without extra players creating space you end up going backwards like we did.

Creating space and bringing defenders out of their position should be something you aim to do in every home game.. and it's really not that hard to sort out. One dimensional crap, please sort it out Danny Wilson

I agree - but it's too simplistic to suggest Flynn constantly goes backwards because the fullback isn't overlapping. Time and time again you can see him take the easy option, when there are alternatives.

when i saw the line up i said to my mate.. 'are we the away team??' .. that line up is ok for away games but it won't do for home ones when the opposition won't come out. .we need pace, movement and an element of unpredictablity to break them down

As frustrating as it may be for home fans, as long as we keep winning our away games it doesn't really matter if we're picking up the required points the opposite way round. Having said that, what does bother me though is the fact that (and I've said this should be a positive), 4 of our last 6 are home games which we should be winning.

It does fella, because we need to pull away and we aren't. I think many fans are like me - scared to death at the prospect at having to pay out a fortune to be bored and then heartbroken at Wembley.

Oh yeah, win every game and we'd be laughing :) What I meant was that 2 points a game between now and the end of the season would more than likely see us up and if we do it by winning away games and drawing home games, so be it. As others have said, we're not pulling away but then again, no-one else is either.

Jim and alco are touching on the thing that concerns me, the need to pull away. What if the away wins dry up? What then? I know we've been very good away but its hard to keep doing that every time. Winning away is difficult and you need to keep getting the luck along the way.

God Alco, the ref blows the whistle to kick-off the playoff final - you can hardly see our players making a flying start can you? ;)
