Did that city centre cycle ride yesterday just so I could inside the stadium. Desso pitch in great nick apart from looking a tad long. Couldnt get my head around some of it being synthetic anyone fill me in how that works. This was probably done to death when the pitch was relayed last yr before I became a member of the forum.

What is DESSO GrassMaster® hybrid grass?
A DESSO GrassMaster ® hybrid grass pitch is a 100% natural sport grass pitch reinforced by millions of Desso artificial turf fibres.

  • with a patented technique, specialised installers inject 20 million Desso artificial turf fibres in a natural grass mat
  • the natural grass roots intertwine with the 20 cm deep injected artificial turf fibres
  • result: a high-tech, stable pitch that can take 3 times as much playing than a normal, natural grass pitch

Taken from Wikipedia

Desso GrassMaster is a hybrid grass sportsplaying field surface composed of naturalgrass combined with artificial fibres, from the Dutch Desso group, known for their carpet. The artificial grass fibres are injected 20 centimetres (7.9 in) deep, and cover about 3% of the surface. While the grass is growing, the roots intertwine with the artificial fibres. The designers claim this anchors the field to create a solid, even structure with good drainage and 'playing comfort'.

Anyway, you've certainly picked a good subject. For some reason, the rest of the forum love to wank themselves into a frenzy when any mention of the playing surface arises.

Welcome to the board.

Is your username a thinly veiled reference to you having a big fuck off hard on all the time?

We used to,have a fantastic view of the lane , it was especially good when the floodlights where on at night .
I've got a good photo of the lane from one of the now demolished block of flats off Norfolk Park ,
Think it was the year we did the pigs 3-1 at the sty , tracks, for the tram was only being laid at the time .
Sigh the good old days .

took my youngest around the route again this year but early on (11:15) the Bramall Lane section was closed off due to a protest so we didn't get in. Couldn't decide if I was pissed off to miss out or more worried that the protest was about us selling off say Fleck to Rangers for £3 and a haggis.

How much dog piss can the desso take before lawn burn occurs?

Also, when we say 'the desso', should we use a capital D?

Can we get a mate for Captain Blade? Des the Desso, just a bloke covered in turf with a million quid in a suitcase, and at the end of every season we bring him out on the pitch and ceremonially kill him/ put a boxing ring on top of him until he goes brown.

A premium surface upon which excellent footballers showcase their talents.

Pele bless it.

The Cap'n had a mate, Mr Cutler but he disappeared fairly quickly. Weird looking bloke .

Yeah he got the flu then he was transferred to Bristol Rovers for not enough money. Best mascot we ever had, good luck to the lad, McCabe out.

Took me ages getting home from Forum 5-a-side on Sunday.
Bramall Lane being shut for the bike ride explains it all now.

Can't say I'm satisfied with the work. They still used fucking green.

Looks like I've got centre court above me tackle.

Sir Billy Connolly used to say that when he went grey, his willy, in a certain light, looked rather like Stewart Grainger....

Yes, they'll all come to meet me, arms reaching, smiling sweetly.
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home.

(couldn't resist :D )

Beautiful. Get them pillars removed and its a 10 out of 10. ;)

IT appears we've sold our center circle and our 18 yard boxes. I'm not having this, why can't we keep our assets?
