Just seen the extended highlights. During the closing stages, Norwood sent in a tremendoud ball from a free kick and at the time i thought maybe we should have had someone on the end of it. How did Bash not connect with that? All the front area of the goal was open but he wafted at the ball and completely missed it. Maybe it would have been better if Didsy had been in that position!

Is this the one where deeney had a dodgy header to clear it?

Norwood seems to be crossing the ball from the right in open play a lot more. Baldock and lundstram force the defence back then roll the ball back for the sultan of ping. Unfortunately we keep fluffing them or being flagged offside.

Basham took his eye of the ball. Schoolboy error. I'm surprised it didn't simply hit him and bounce in a random direction!

I believe you’re referring to the Toxic Ollie Zone, which after a flurry of goals (mainly for Sharp) in the first half of last season has I believe been virtually barren since February. It would be nice for that to be reactivated somewhat, though our change in style has meant Lundstram has taken on a lot of the crossing from that area.

I’ve also noticed this, it isn’t a failure of his delivery, its down to those not getting on the end of them.

It isn’t his fault certainly. In fact if it’s anyone’s it’s mine, as my gif-filled TOZ post in February seems to have cursed the whole thing. It’s a shame as when McBurnie signed I thought this was poised to re-emerge as an Ollie-to-Oli thing.

It hadn’t felt like your fault, but happy to blame you if you’re accepting it. Us Blades do love a scapegoat 👍🏼
