Noticed after all 3 goals today he turned back to the fans and gave us a 'come on!' celebration.

Top man and top player, biggest blade on par with Billy in that squad in my eyes.

One the key players throughout this revival. We all know that technically there are probably better players that can (and probably will eventually) come in. But the performances and consistency he puts in are what makes him a very valuable player in this team.

The heart of the man is huge, like Billy and several others, he's a great player to have around and long may it continue.

I'd talked previously that JOC would be the next captain, but for me, its Basham.

On his way to Sunderland with Wilder, Knill & Sharp.

Any more to add to the list?

Why? He’s been outstanding in quite a few games this season.

I think the world of Basham . He loves the Club and has a heart like a lions but ..... He's clearly not a natural central defender . He's willing to put his body on the line to stop the opposition but I want a central defender who doesn't just offer his level of commitment, I want more . I want a defender who's strength is an uncanny reading of the game and one who very rarely puts his body on the line to stop the opposition because he's already stifled any threat on his own terms .

Think Paul McGrath in terms of what we need . We'll struggle to find a Central defender as good as him but that's the kind we need at the back . Basham gets caught out of position a lot and whilst he's happy to resort to last ditch heroics in doing so he stretches and pulls our defence out of shape . We need better to progress .

paul was the best defender i’ve ever seen in the flesh.. so yeah i think we’ll struggle too :)
in fact man city would struggle

Excellent on occasions. Mostly average. Loves to hoof it to no one in particular. The most sycophantic Brown-nosing creep in the entire squad. At end of disastrous season under Adkins came out and said “no changes needed”. Doubt he’d get a first team place in any other Championship team.

You want to play a Paul McGrath type as an overlapping right centre half?!

He's improved in the last 3 months. I think he was the definite weakest member of the first XI before that. Now, he at least deserves the opportunity to challenge for his spot with whoever comes in and to be the shirt holder until it's taken away from him

Absolute rubbish Trev,:D Basham should be the first name on the team sheet every game, thank god CW knows it.

Basham makes us dangerous going forward down that right hand side it’s not all Baldock. He has the balls to run forward and get into attacking positions something I feel Joc has hid away from at times this season unlike last year. Brilliant player joc but wish he would have a bit more confidence going forward rather than looking back over his shoulder. Fair play to Bash, proved a lot of doubters wrong this season and for me has been one of our most consistent performers this year

For some reason, I’m not at all surprised he’s not your type of player.

;)

I'd be happy with a right footed jack o Connell type defender over Basham .

Our defence needs strengthening, out of interest, where would you strengthen ?

Two strikers, a keeper and a left wing back.

You don't think we need the strengthen in the centre of defence ? Interesting . I guess we'll have to agree to differ on that one .

Technical football ability is League 1 generally, with glimpses of better play. He’s a defender and that’s it, no more no less, with unquestionable commitment to every game ! Top lad and a definite for next season.

Evident against Preston at home when he was the only player on the pitch that seemed to give a shit, from both sides !

If his crossing and shooting was better he would be a top end Championship player.
