He picked up a booking on Saturday which means he misses our next two games against Scunthorpe and Wallsall away, now who are we going to play at the back now both him and Kennedy, the only other 2 players Clough will play there other than McEveley are both out? It doesn't get any easier Blades does it because Basham will be missed. My guess is Brayford will be moved across to CB and Freeman at RB, what does everyone else think?

What about Damon Hill, he's about 6 foot aswell.

I think Alcock played through the middle at the start of the season didn't he?

I'm not sure about Freeman as he wasn't in the squad on Saturday

Also Ben Davies can also play at right back, so we have a few options.

Alternatively could we get a Centre Half in on loan...like Paddy McCarthy to tighten things up ;)

Yes Alcock did play there mate and he didn't do the worst job 'tbh'.

Freeman wasn't in the squad but i thought Clough said he'd be back for the next game?

I like Ben Davies, he can do a job there but i'd prefer him getting crosses in further up the pitch.

I'm glad you winked regarding McCarthy because he can fook right off, although a better loan wouldn't go amiss.

Hopefully it trigures some movement in the loan market and we bring in the commanding centre back weve been missing all season. I've been banging on about Collins but I'd be reluctant to throw him in even if he didn't have sunstroke, I mean calf strain. Saying that a loan would probably mean someone who had been injured or not been playing.

Brayford can play centre for Alcock stepping in RB. Either that or the other way round I guess.

just put Alcock at center back, he played well there at the start of the season, I'm sure he was one of the highest rated players early in the season in that position.

I think Alcock was great at center half, he'll go brayford though.

It will be Allcock and Maceverly I should think, not great but better than Brayford there he is to much all right foot to play CB imho

Alcock has a good leap but his lack of height can be exposed at CB when crosses come in from the byline. Wilbraham jumping with him for Bristol City's goal at the Lane springs to mind.

I'd go with Alcock but he did lose form dramatically earlier thhis season. I think Brayford offers more at RB than CB.
Completely agree with this, i have a feeling though that we'll see Brayford there so we can fit a couple of RB's in the rest of the side. I wouldn't mind Alcock in there at all.

Maybe we could do something radical ....... like getting two specialist CH's on loan to tighten things up .......

Naah ..... forget that stupid idea, why play a CH at Centre half, its like playing a striker upfront .....

Collins is a CB but hasn't played for months - Collins last played for us in the Johnson Paint at Hartlepool on 7th October. Since that point he has continued drawing a wage (on one site I saw his listed as £35,000 basic monthly). I also thought I had read that he wasn't training with the first team. So Collins looks a doubtful bet to my mind.

Anyone else fancy sitting on their butt for 5 months and getting £175,000 for it?
