But Basham will struggle in the Championship won't he.......

Blackman won us that game today. One outstanding save, a couple of other decent ones and generally solid in every department. A great debut. Only negative was his kicking.

He is maybe not so good at catching but his reaction at close range is fantastic. OK he is here from Chelsea to gain experience.

Barham and Blackman was very good today but the man of the match for me today had to be Clarke. I think he was brilliant every time he got the ball he held the ball up when he had to and played it and his own pace and some of them forward balls to sharp and Lavery when he come on was brilliant and for that he just nipped the man of the match for me closely very closely followed by Blackman who was also excellent apart from a couple of dodgy kicks.

Any Man Citeh fan will tell you that the most important attribute for a GK is to have safe hands and be a good shot stopper.

They can work on his kicking, Im not concerned about that just yet

What I loved about Blackman was how cool he looked. Completely unruffled, as if it was just a training workout for him. His saves were match winners and the kicking will come once he gets used to the Bramall Lane crosswinds.

Got to admit that before today I thought Basham would be decent cover at most this season. I thought we needed to spend big on a top first choice rcb if we were to be defensively competitive. I'm really happy that he has proven me wrong today. Still early days but if he keeps up what he did today then I'd be happier to not spunk the money.

In Bashambauer we trust.

Agreed. Like a goalkeeping version of Usain Bolt. ;)

To be fair there was a fair bit of wind towards the kop so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on his kicking.

Basham's a dunny one really.

He's the sort of player that when he finds his form he could be wouldn't be out of place at a higher level or two than last season.

He just needs to keep doing the simple stuff well. It's all down to consistency then.

I'm not sure this is just 'form' for Basham anymore, has he just developed that much this is a normal performance from him?

He's been consistently that good for that long.

I'll argue till I'm blue in the face, IF we sign Lenihan he may find himself on the bench for some time.
