Bash

I thought he took the biscuit today mate. In the Derby match a stonewall pen was missed but the referee needed help from the lino who was in a much better position to see it. The only other real clanger was the back pass. Other than that it was 50/50 in terms of shitty decisions over fouls etc.

Today was just horrendous. He couldn't wait to get his card out and from that moment on he dug himself into a hole. It's possible that he was playing the crowd like a typical prima donna ref, getting the home supporters back's up then appeasing them by evening things up later on, just making sure he was the centre of attention. However, I just think he was fucking useless to be honest and couldn't be arsed to do his job properly because he had been demoted for the day. When he sent Bash off I seriously contemplated that he was pissed up.

Oh I agree. I just think the ref against Derby had come from the Comedy store. Dreadful, the pair of them.

Why do people think sending a ref to a lower league than they normally ref in is punishment. They should get a ban, not be inflicted on another league where their ego can be pandered to even more so than usual.

I agree it's not really a punishment and they should get banned or fined but if you send them low enough, they'd definitely lose face which to them would seem like a punishment. Take the Merseyside derby off them and make them do Truro Vs Hungerford and they'd be distraught.

If there is one player that doesn't need a rest it's Bash. He will be wearing the carpet out tonight cos he can't play. Will be a big miss for us.
I don't think he will be as bigger miss as you think.
Atleast we have cover for Bash, Cranie can slot in fine, there's also Stears, and if Coutts can play like he did yesterday, sort of a more defensive midfielder role, then I think we can survive the next 3 games.

I don't understand the FA system of banning players for 2 yellows. Surely getting sent off and leaving your team down to ten men is punishment enough, why the ban too?
I have never understood the logic of this either. Why should the next team you play receive a benefit from something that happened in a game that had nothing to do with them?

Curious as to how Wilder will handle Bash being missing. I don't know how far Freeman is off but could Baldock slide into the RCB role and Freeman go RWB?

Just ban them or take their pay off them. It annoys me that the retirement age is so low (48 I think). It prettt much excludes anyone who’s ever played football at a decent level from being a top referee as they need to start at the bottom in their mid 20’s to get anywhere near the football league or PL.

You end up with bitter stattos who were always the last picked at school and who understand only the literal rules of the game rather than how it’s actually played. They want to take their wankness out on the kids that actually could play football and become little celebrities in their own mind.

It doesn’t end when they retire as the shittest refs then get after dinner gigs talking about how they were on first name terms with Lamps, Jaytee and Stevie G. The fact that the players probably used to say “hello” through gritted teeth seems to elude these arseholes.
