Why put Bash on the bench yesterday and not play him. He must be at least half-match fit and he was much needed. How bad must the team get to put him on.

It has also signalled he may play Monday. Thats something not to indicate to the opposition for the remaiing games. If he wasn't to play, dont put him on the bench.

To get him some valuable minutes if the games already won with 20 minutes to go would be my guess.

We needed him for the last half hour, and he was never brought on to warm up.

Usually it would be to get him some game time (as above), and for emergencies (injury or red card and hanging on for a result).

In our squad this season, it was probably because whoever was meant to be on the bench was away on a school trip.
