tbh - I didn't go to the game. I watched most of the highlights on the stream posted by Barnsley FC (well done Barnsley btw! - that was appreciated). It wasn't a great stream at first, very fuzzy. Then I realised it was because my Grandma has been using this computer looking at knitting porn and she gets bad hay fever this time of year and had sneezed several times over the screen.

I didn't realise he was even playing for about 15 minutes - then I saw the number 7 and he cluttered into a few players, bowling them over and getting a foul against him in the first instance, but ploughing a guy over in the next instance and getting away with it. I saw him do a very good pass and retrieve, a one-two, that took him into the box and he pulled it back lovely for one of our strikers. I think these were the highlights that I saw from his entire performance. To be fair, I thought he looked o.k. I thought as a team though we looked a lot better and more balanced when he came off and Freeman came on. The only thing I'd say is that I still think our team is a bit lop-sided. We look really good down the left - but much weaker on the right hand side, going forward. And unfortunately Lunny didn't do much to change that.

Unfortunately it’s not that small or he would have sorted it by now. As I have said previously he needs to stop crossing and start passing the ball.

I think he’s under instruction
To get the ball in quickly, which is a high risk strategy, as a percentage the ball will be poorer if you don’t take your time , but it stops the defenders from getting set.
This is the same for all players .

Might upset one or two on here but I’m seriously concerned that Lundstram seems to even be near the starting 11. Don’t shoot me down all you lovers but we really do need better next season. If I’m wrong I’ll hold my hands up and pat the lad on the back

Lundstram has impressed me pre season when I have seen him (Betis & Barnsley) he was my MOTM vs Betis, it did help with him being one of a few players who played 90 mins. I think he will have role this season but will probably be a bit part player.

K Freeman also looked good vs Betis, not sure how he has got on in other friendlies but he could provide really good competition to Baldock this year.

That’s how I felt at the end of last season. Freeman just seems to have lost about 2 stone, gained a couple of yards of pace and his end product is better than baldocks. Then again I have only seen him play 45 mins of football this pre season so maybe it was a one off.

Lost about 2 stone, mmm. There was a clamour for Freeman to return last season, effective when he eventually did but seemed to burn out or lose form. When Baldock took over he seemed much more effective.
Be interesting to see which of Bryan, Lundstram, Freeman, or Stearman for that matter come through this coming season. Be great if they were all pushing for an
automatic start
