I'll fall back on my old refrain. Those lads & lasses, in the Holmesdale Fanatics block, in the Section 82 block, in the Red Faction block. They'll be having the time of their lives, they're not thinking - ooohhh it'll look naff and half baked.

The English inertia narrative. I want it to be like that thing over there, but not by doing that thing that those over there are doing.
Not an issue doing the same thing, just don’t do it in a wank way.

TBF I’m pretty sure that many people my age’s abiding memories of SUFC as youngsters is flares, banners, scarves at Wednesday away in the 1990s and at Wembley when we played them. Not to mention balloons in their thousands at every big game.
I was happily nodding along until I got to the bit that said '1990's', when I realised that the flares that you were on about, weren't the same flares that I had abiding memories of as a youngster. 🤣

I used to love the balloons at the cup matches and play offs in in the early 2000s - was it Shelton’s goal against Man City that pout a stop to that?

Whilst we’re talking about fan led stuff at the lane, I’ve not seen any mention of all the United posters that started popping up in the area around and since the derby in November. Personally im a big fan. It really makes Bramall Lane feel like an integral part of the area (that I live in) rather than just a football ground that happens to be there.

Marty Griot on Insta is the fella behind it. Did a good podcast about it recently with The Pinch.

I visited Split a couple of years ago ...
Hajduk was displayed absolutely everywhere.
You were in no doubts about the loyalty of the city to the football team .

If everyone that whinges, just decided to make a bit of noise, it’d be fine.
Imagine that. A constant loud grumbling echoing round the ground. Away fans would talk of the unique atmosphere for years to come 🤣

Balloons f*cking everywhere, getting in the way of the game. And no one could seem to release them in a way that actually achieved what they wanted.

Very much agree.

Some people just love to criticise any initiative but at least these guys are trying. Showing action instead of just words.
Think it’s great we’re trying something, might work, might look a bit tinpot but it’s starts the ball rolling and it can evolve over time.
