Anyone taking any? Just seen you can buy 1000 balloons for £50 and £1.25 a pack of confetti. I've never done any sort of crowdfunding before so a couple of questions.

Would you be willing to put a quid or 2 towards it?

Would anyone be able to get me in Bramall lane early before turnstiles open as I'd need some time to lay all these out, I'd probably need help too as my alcoholic friends won't fancy helping me !

What's the best crowdfunding site?

How much do you think would be needed?

Yes, I'd let you have some dosh. But the club will likely be doing something similar won't they?....

Hopefully, I've only just thought of the idea and got a bit giddy so came straight on the forum. I'll email the club before I set anything up !

You'll need £1500... 30000 balloons

Fun fact, kids

If you fill a balloon with pure hydrogen and set it alight, the resulting explosion creates an impressive temporary flare. More environmentally friendly than conventional pyrotechnics too.

So that's something to think about...

Now call this blue sky thinking but what's the point of 'the crowd' sending you money, you buying thousands of balloons and distributing them.

As an alternative instead of sending you the money the individual members of 'The crowd' take their money into a shop, buy said balloons and transport them to the match.

When you arrive the club will then have boxes of balloons to give away.

Love the intent and willingness to creat a good atmosphere SR but the club should take care of it. You go enjoy a few sherberts with your pals and family

I know what your saying, people tend to not end up being arsed to do things like this though and after Wembley 93 and other experiences balloons and confetti does look good for when the teams come out. Just thought I'd get something set up, I've emailed the club and await a response, hopefully the club have something similar already in mind.

1000 balloons would look good, 5000 would be very impressive but 1000 - 2000 is a realistic crowdfunding target.

One year at Roker Park every single balloon went immediately backwards over our heads due to the wind and straight out of the ground. No doubt terrifying the dimwits of Sunderland for a day or two.

I distributed balloons to the kop end for some (possibly all) of the big games in the triple assault season. It was a club initiative at the time.

I've reported your post to the countryside commission.

You can have the rest of what's in my account if you do something like this. Purely to terrify the curtain-twitcher brigade.

Can you imagine it, just as we are starting to get more seats available for the home fans after "incidents" in the past and then this happens! Boom! Thumbs up from me.

Will you be blowing them all up yourself by mouth? If so it would be worth a couple of quid to see that!

Why not forget the balloons and confetti and raise your arms in the air and clap like fuck, I'm sure the noise made will mean more than a load of balloons to the lads. Think about the poor bastards that have to go round on Monday picking all this shit up.
