I would think that most posters on here wouldn't give a toss about anyone's sexual preferences, but it was clear at the time that you upset the other poster yet you chose not to apologise. Your call of course, but it had the whiff of something unpleasant and unnecessary about it.

So regarding Max, he's chosen to come on here and mix with a generally adult group. So far he seems to have weathered any storms and he'll still, I hope, wish to contribute to this forum. The truth is, no one knows exactly how old Max is, but as you've mentioned, he does seem to fall into a younger age group. Whatever drives him, whatever he feels he must do regarding the forum, if it's a little misplaced he'll get pulled up, just as any of us would do if we wrote nonsense.

I've been pulled up before yet I survived. So it'll be with Max, and I hope he'll learn healthy lessons from being here. He's a young Blade, so at least in footballing terms he's got good taste, albeit taste that might add a few grey hairs due to the nature of supporting the Blades.

Correction Bos, JP is a plagiarist. It was Sister Sledge who claimed the immortal line, "We are Family".....now there's a thought, could be considered for a pre-match anthem. It'll never replace the GCB, but it's always good to have alternatives.

Firstly, good, you did exactly the right thing by apologising. Secondly, the fact that you did so in a private message means that no one would have known, thus your original unpleasantness would have been the only public comment anyone would have been aware of, so when you say it's no-one else's business I happen to disagree. If the message you posted on the shoutbox had had a racial inference I'd imagine it would have been frowned upon at least, as it stands, the original post suggested something that was incorrect, mean, and hurtful.

You say it's none of my business? As I was unaware of your apology (via private apology) the only remaining conclusion I was left with were the words you posted in the shoutbox. My reaction would have been different if I'd known you apologised, as it stands, I or anyone else was unaware that you'd made that gesture.

I can see why you wish to put this in a literal context, but whether you agree or disagree, the original shoutbox comment was mean-spirited and hurtful. It cast an incorrect shadow over the other poster's character, and I happen to find that unpalatable. I think you're not seeing the wood for the trees with this one, and the spite contained within the original shoutbox message was visible to everyone, so hardly a case of being 'no one else's business'.
