Backroom Staff. How much?

Our dug-out seems to have more backroom staff than others. Still doesn't stop us getting beat by the Cod Army however.

Was curious to know the extent of our set-up. From the website, found the following listed. There are 14 listed, 15 if you count NC.

How much do you think this lot costs the club?

I'd say it's pretty normal for a first team to have 3 coaches, a GK coach, a fitness coach, a physio, 2 scouts, and a tech wiz....

You can sack the two goalkeeping coaches for starters.

I would expect more scouts than that. If we're seriously scouting and looking extensively, we'd have about 5 or 6. Then again, covering Blackpool and Derby, with the odd jolly to Scotland, doesn't require that many.

Are we getting value for money , or is it work in progress..Perhaps Clough will review his back-room staff , after lessons learnt from this season. Wonder with the exception of the goalies , all the others played midfield at some level in the past

Are we in a parallel universe BTL? Seems some strange stuff on here.

Mind you I thought I saw a bead of sweat on the brow of the programme seller stood outside The Railway - is he going to be the next one under scrutiny?

It's one of those- if we are successful it doesn't look too bad.

Seriously, how many are ex-Derby and would have to be paid-off if Clough got the sack?

I'm astounded we have a scouting system. I was saying on Saturday at half time I hope and pray we are already eying up targets for next season - and not gonna wait till August 31st to put bids in oh and while I'm at it would it be ok to suggest carrying out Medicals on said players prior to signing?

As well as gk coach you can often see Darren Ward with a tactics board In hand working things out and communicating through an ear piece to someone in the stand (crosby presumably) as well as having the job of sending messages out to the team and yelling in the referees direction with arms in the air.

i would think we will have a fair few scouts up an down the british isles who would pass on any prospective players to be viewed by the chief scouts who would then pass on any recommendations to clough and his team of coaches for them to make an informed decision clough has said that they all have a look and then decide whether to follow it up.

you would hope so, but if they're not on our books, they've got no incentive to come to us before any club. The fact almost all the entire backroom staff are Clough's mates is hardly reassuring.

i think most clubs apart from the top prem teams accept the network of scouts a manager brings with him and get paid on referals managers will stick with the ones he trusts to supply him with good prospects after all his job is all about processing
players through to first team very cut throat business according to the book i am reading on scouts

So we should have Cloughs enemies in there ?
