If you use computer games as a reference FIFA 17 has the old style 2 players taking the kick off, FIFA 18 has the new one.

It was a silly rule that one. Everyone has to start in their own half, yet you had to play it forwards, so you always had a player in the wrong half to ensure his mate didn’t pass the ball straight to the opposition.

Wasn’t worth telling players to get back in their own half at a centre as it’s completely understandable, making that about as enforceable as the six second rule when the keeper has it in his hands.
