Evening All,

Welcome to the first minutes release from our recent meeting with officials from SUFC, agreed by all parties (biff/s24su/blades) Please be aware this is a reduced version due to the confidential nature of some content.

I hope you find this of some interest & i welcome any constructive feedback.

Please remember, we discuss fan issues only & do not venture into Boardroom politics or matters on the pitch.

In total, 16 people attended the meeting (12 from BIFF, 4 from SUFC), the SUFC officials were made up of operational management & a board member.

Catering

According to Paul Garth, Compass General Manager, The trial of Childrens Kiosk ( requested by biff after feedback from fans) has been received well, more will be opened during the course of the season (potentially GAC Stand) to compliment ones in the Family Stand currently.

Queuing
Queuing has significantly been improved throughout the stadium. 1 or 2 minor issues are still presnt in the Kop but as a whole, there is significant improvement.

Speed Pourers
Paul Garth (Compass) revealed that the KOP now had 10 and the GAC has some also. There are a significant number of “Ghostbusters” around the concourses as well.

Bread
Paul Garth (Compass) confirmed that a local bread supplier was being sourced and should be in place before the end of November.

Complaints
Catering related complaints as a whole are significantly down.

Retail

Simon Argall opened with there will be a choice of Home kit voted on by the Fans, with 4 designs posted on the Official Site the following day.

S24SU will also post the designs on their web-site to get some extra view points.
Other designs included, The training kits and Polo shirts.

The aim is for kits to be on sale by April 2011.

There will hopefully be a new Match-Day Superstore opening in the old Superstore on John Street. This is to be opened with the commemorative 70-71 strip should it be voted to be the next kit. This also ties in with the story of the building that SUFC used to use in that time. No exact timescales were given for this

Burnley Match – Scepa Feedback
John Garrett opened with feedback from B.I.F.F.’s involvement for the Chinese Student day. There is a Chinese student community of 3500 in Sheffield in which approximately 200 came to BDTBL to sample a match day experience of football, tours of the ground and facilities. SCEPA gave a presentation to these students.

Sheffield United thanked BIFF on a job well done (this was covered seperately on here a couple of weeks ago by Linz)

Tickets

Palace Match: The televised Crystal Palace match has been declared a Flag day and ticket prices will be £10 Adults (£5 Concessions). The details of the Flag Day have been released on here & several times on the clubs website over the past 2 weeks.

The next meeting will be held in January, nearer the time i will post a thread asking for feedback/issues experienced following the Blades.

Without wanting to be all negative the queues in the Westfield corner are shocking at half time, just as bad as last season. It can take them a good couple of minutes to serve you with two hot drinks once you get to the front of the queue. I dread to think how bad it would be if the stand was ever to be more than a quarter full.

Thanks for the feedback Oakland, any chance you can keep an eye on this for future home matches & post on here if there are issues with queues ?

Only with specific information can we lobby the club to take action to improve the situation. I believe Linz/Foxy have set up an email address for this very reason (to capture fan issues)

Guys - Can you provide it to Oakland if they require it ?

Thanks

What about another help for heroes day.

The one last season was moving and created a special atmosphere. Especially as one of my mates was on the big screen before the match out in Afghanistan with his Blades shirt on.

Brownie, good shout. Have a mate (who's a blade) & neighbour who seem to be out in Afghan regular.

I will make enquiries & post/get back to you

Help for Heroes was mentioned before, but it's only an Army charity (not Air Force or Navy). I think if the club were to do something, it would be inclusive of all.

Great idea, my cousin is a marine and he would appreciate a bit of cheeky discount when he gets the chance to come to the lane.

Help for Heroes is a charity that helps servicemen and women injured in current conflicts.

From their own website -

"Help for Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country."

It makes no mention of being an Army charity, and even their wristbands have the colours of all three branches of the services. They help so many soldiers at the moment because the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan have mainly involved soldiers on the front line.
