Away tickets....

What about a system whereby blades membership or season ticket entitles you to 1 guaranteed away ticket priority purchase each season? The away fixture you are allocated is determined by lottery and you then get priority to purchase for that game. It is then up to the individual as to whether or not they take advantage of their once a season priority purchasing right. This way it would be much easier for exiled blades or those with low loyalty points to get to at least 1 away game per season. This would be a nice way to give everyone a chance to experience an away day with the mighty blades.

There have already been 4 or 5 away sales that have made it to general sale. It's not even that difficult, we're not bloody Man United with 20,000 applying for every away match.

I was at the Forest game and looking around me pre match and there were 5 kids, I would guess they were all younger than 11, who were sat within a few metres of me. So, people saying that youngsters won't be able to attend away games as they do not have enough points seems to be proven wrong to me. And that was just from within my immediate vicinity.

I agree had kids sat near me at Swillsborough too, there were at least 3 under 10's sat near me their and I saw more at Forest.

Still doesn't help the younger supporter long term though does it? And as I've already said, those who go to almost or every game shouldn't have an issue whatever the system. They will always be at the top. I've personally been to an awful lot of away games in league 1 (averaging 13-15 a season) but the two years I didn't have a season ticket for over a decade ago are still holding me back. If they are holding me after all this time what chance have the younger generation?

So how many points do you have? I am struggling to see on the games you go too and having had a season ticket for the last 10 years or so, that you have not got plenty of points?

The difficulty for a small number of fans is that travelling to games involves booking flights, hire cars and accommodation. This is easily done for home games ( notwithstanding sky interference) but is almost impossible for away fixtures because you can't be sure the tickets will get to general sale. Something along the lines of my previous suggestion would at least make 1 away game per season a certainty for overseas fans like myself and many others

Similar to my 17yr old son. He has 39940. No Forest tickets but no problem anywhere else, on the waiting list for Pig returns and got that. Greater demand this season so will be harder but after 6 years in L1 he and many many others who've been going home and away and ST holders should be given priority to my mind.

I understand Georgethecats issue but if that was going to happen it would have to be a choice/lottery for the games where there are plenty of seats and not ones like Forest, Pigs etc where longstanding attendance loyalty should most certainly have priority.

Those two years cost me 5000 points. Based on approx 100 points per away game (and I would say there have been far more worth 50 than 150) it has taken a minimum of 50 games to pull that back. The problem being that I'm not quite there as others have still been going as well. Granted not in the numbers like last year and I'm not far off but it's taken over 6 years to claw back. I have got absolutely no issues with those who never or rarely miss. My point being that plenty of the younger generation haven't had that option through age or cost. Points that were earned 14 years ago can never be caught by a younger generation

I'm coming back for Christmas, 3,000 miles to come and see the blades at villa and preston.

What's the best option of trying to get a ticket apart from favours from mates?

Will the club make exceptions on loyalty points for those expats?

Surely I'm a bigger blade than someone who lives on Shoreham? (I'm joking by the way) lol

So you abandoned your club and left the country?

Not a chance pal.

Loyal blades stay.

You've touched on the point that probably niggles the most. My daughter & boyfriend (and myself for that matter) have seen a huge number of league one away games when tickets weren't a problem and the football was, well, you were there like us. The problem being was that they weren't season ticket holders 14 years ago when the system was first introduced. They've made good ground over the last few years but while still a fraction short feel they're efforts are in vain now we are 'successful' again as the gap may widen once more. This would have been an ideal time for a rolling 5 year system? I have to say though it's so difficult to please everyone.
Hats off to your son though. That's an impressive amount for his age

There was someone on here who's son was a year older and had, I think, 45000 so it's possible, depending of course on circumstances.

Why Sean, A mate who posts on here got a pig ticket at 37500 points at 15:30, Two and a half hours after they went on sale at that bracket. And forest tickets went down to the 35000 point bracket, so how come your son didn't get his tickets?

How come no forest tickets?
I have 200 less and I got them

Used online. They were due to go on sale at 1pm. Site jammed up, then saw on twitter about an hour old that there were no online sales and only 70 left. Went on the waiting list the day after and based on points got them the day after that.

I'll ask him about Forest because I wasn't going.

I was in exactly the same situation with for Hillsborough except that I never bothered with the waiting list.

I just gave up
