I just assumed Coventry were playing in Red because like us, we have cocks that like the White shirt

They have cocks that like the Red shirt, I dont know who lets em out, probably low staffing levels at the weekend

Who cares it's a kit. If they start playing well and winning regularly they can play in yellow and pink stripes for all I care.

Aha! Casepoint...Athletic Bilbao around 2007/8....ditched their trademark red and white stripes when some arty farty designer claiming to be a distant relative of Picasso came up with this tasty dish to wear...

My first thought was they'd done it deliberately, to be provocative.

Exactly what I'd have done in their position. Rub our noses in it.
Well remember the documentary Sky did on Warnock. Starts off with him talking to fans in pre-season (Matlock I believe) and him bemoaning our change to red shorts for that season (2003/04 I think) and how this would be "unlucky" for us. Lot's of people, in and around the game, are superstitious about such things. We went from finishing 3rd to 8th that season.
Worth noting both Sheffield clubs went down to Div3 for the first time in their history having ditched stripes.

(The teams also swapped ends. Wonder if they won the toss.)

The game was that forgettable I can't even remember who kicked off.
However, my one experience of being at the toss (when I was working for the company who sponsored the match ball and I lugged it out to the center circle) was a sobering experience as I thought there would be some tactical thought process behind the selecting of ends. Ha, not a bit of it.
Palace captain on winning the toss "Not bothered. Curly, which way do you fancy?". Keith Curle "We'll stick as we are then". And that was that. No testing the wind, seeing if the sun was shining into the Goalies eyes at the kop end, no making us kick to our unfavoured end first. Bit of an anti climax really.

I'd really like to see this next season, just to wind up the Broad Stripes Hissy Fit Brigade.

actually...maybe at the time everyone was thinking 'what the hell is this clusterf**k of a shirt all about?' but it seems cool now...make the sleeves less baggy and have it a bit of a better tailored fit and it would look smart!!

The design of it was meant to resemble blood flow if I recall correctly.

It'd probably be more accepted these days. All sorts of crazy designs are eventually accepted if they're for a reason.
Here on the other hand, you only have to switch to pinstripes for a one-off shirt for a season and it's a hanging offence!
