I have believed for a while that SYP, who hate football, are looking to get out of doing their job and now they are playing the “tax payers” card.

Sometime soon they are going to “regretfully” announce that they are unable to provide sufficient cover to ensure public safety & recommend to the SAG that certain games will have to take place behind closed doors or with no away fans.

I am betting it will be the derby at the sty or Leeds visit to the Lane

Reg Brealey always wanted his own staff to reduce the costs of policing, i agree with that, there's always a bit overkill which results in a huge overtime bill from other police forces.

It highlights a couple of things for me, the police are mismanaged financially by the powers that be, reducing numbers but increased overtime costs. Also clubs should be allowed to provide their own match day security with minimal support from experienced police officers.

According to Radio Sheffield this morning, out of the total cost of £203,000, Wednesday paid just £40k. Why? It was their fans haranguing our team as they got off the bus, pig fans hanging around Hillsborough Corner allowing the useless police to make many Blades fans miss a lot of the game etc.

SYPD are both incompetent and bent. After 1989, they shouldn't be allowed near football matches again. How much of the £203k went to their mates in the Durham Cuntstabulary? If away fans were banned from attending Sheffield Derby games, no doubt there'd be overkill policing in the city centre to prevent 'possible trouble from fans who couldn't attend the game.'

Where the fuck are all these coppers when they're not at football matches? Certainly not on the streets catching real criminals. Unless they're wolf-whistling.

The worrying thing for me is the lack of accountability in being able to spend this kind of money policing a football match. As its been demonstrated that other police forces can manage football matches for a fraction of the cost, why aren't the council/police committee/police commissioner asking questions. Don't auditors have a say in this as well? It's a fucking disgrace, SYP need a root and branch investigation carrying out by some independent body.

The government will end its intervention into Rotherham council three years after it was severely criticised for “significant failings” which contributed to child sexual exploitation.

In a written ministerial statement the communities secretary, James Brokenshire, said he wanted to return control of all services to the council, including children’s social care.

He also said he would withdraw all three commissioners – all on the condition the council is independently renewed (Think that should read 'reviewed') before the end of March next year.
