As a team they aren't functioning, but i personally think they do have some world class players.

Lacazette is a lethal finisher, Leno is a quality Keeper and when he feels like showing up (which, granted, isn't often) Ozil is unplayable.

Put him next to John Terry and he’s an adequate defender, decent going forward. If he played for Liverpool with VDV next to him and their midfielders in front of him he’d look OK.

Because he’s been played next to very good solid centre backs his whole career. Terry, Cahill, Thiago Silva.

I think his type of centre back (one the will step out of the back line to engage an attacker) is very good when you have a good centre back who will sit.
