Think it was 30050 or something like that which is remarkable seeing at WBA were 3 or 400 short of selling out and we are not selling on the back of the Kop. Think it's first time they've counted it properly and not shrunk it down on the fiddle!

WBA requested an allocation of 2,075 rather than the ‘full’ 2,700 that a few clubs have taken this year, and were some way short of selling out. The WBA following looked to be around 1,100.

United sold out the home seats which, at present, appear to be a touch below 29,000.

Think they were 1300 short of selling 2700 which is what BLLT holds and back of Kop was sold out as tickets now available, BLUT there were probably 300 spare seats due to some rules

So 35,000 then using the widely accepted pigonomics formula for football attendances
Oh, didn't look quite that bad from them! It's odd, we've seen sell outs with no restrictions on the Kop and full away ends and the attendance never seems to hit 31000 in a 32000+ stadium. Hence my comments. Feels like they counted the attendance properly and havent in the past.

Oh, if they've sorted the Kop then fair enough - and thank god!

Not sure what you're on about.

The away end holds 2,700 and WBA didn't even half fill it.
On the day before the match they hadn't even sold 1000, they must have sold some on the night because it did look about 1000.

Also SAG relaxed the restriction for this match and allowed us to sell all the Kop tickets.

The full Bramall Lane capacity is 32,000, we got 32,034 when we had a sell out against Man Utd when we were last in the Premier League.
So 1,700 empty seats on the away end and about 250 empty seats in odd bits of the home end that they won't sell, 30,050 sounds about right.

Saturday should be near 31K as Preston have already sold over 1,700 tickets.
Assuming that SAG allow us to sell the additional 750 Kop tickets again.

Yeah, it definitely looked a lot less 2,075

Should be more on Saturday. We’re selling the extra Kop tickets this morning already! Preston have sold more than WBA too.

Yes much better again, they have just released rest of KOP for Saturday as well, sorted for Prem :)
Yes they have at last
They hadn't done when I looked yesterday.

Did they do it yesterday ? Or was it today ?

Surely they were intelligent enough to do it yesterday when everyone was at Bramall Lane......Surely

Gangway A, the very far side of the Kop, didn’t seem to have been fully sold last night from what I saw when watching the game back. Not sure why.

Be interesting to see what their view is on crowd behaviour.
The old chap standing next to me got hit on the back of his head by a smoke bomb. He wasn't very happy. Left for a while but did come back and seemed ok.
Mind you he moaned like buggery throughout the entire game anyway.
Two others hurled from the back landed just in front and the combined effects made the air pretty toxic for a while.

I don't want to get into a debate on the merits of smokebombs, but I can't help but feel that SAG won't be impressed.

Whatever the actual figure, it's still tremendous and it's been tremendous all season. Our average must be around the 27-28,000 mark.

When I first started going in the early 80's a crowd of 16,000 would have been high.

I really hope that the club do expand the stadium and capacity to 42,000 as reported and I wish we could get rid of those 2 pillars on the Kop. It really would be a top class stadium then.

SAG will be less impressed about the idiot who threw a banger when we scored the first and it landed on the pitch near to WBA goalkeeper who duly reported it to the referee. FA may get involved depending on refs report. It didn't come from the back of the Kop though it was the front so expect over stewarding in this area on Saturday.

I'll tell you what will happen......

The pigs are having a 'BYOP' (bring your own pyro) Day when they play Derby, all agreed with the SAG and Sheffield City Council, our kop is closed until we're relegated out of the EFL and join the non-leagues.

Went to the game last night with an Albion fan. He said the Baggies suspended sales in the last week as there were a usual of number of sales heading for Sheffield post codes. Sales started again this week but only to those with a prior sales history. This would explain some of their bad turn out.

United’s average attendance for the season is currently 28,653.

The gate against PNE on Saturday will, in all likelihood, add another 100 or so to the average, and take it up to c.28,750.

That will constitute a remarkable average gate for the season for a Sheffield club in the second tier.

This City is ours.

35,000 is a fantastic attendance. It was spine tingling when all 40,000 of us cheered when Berge scored. We showed our class at the end though by staying off the pitch, although I'm not sure we'd have been able to fit 45,000 on there.

Away capacity is actually2990 but we are only selling 2700 this season with tickets at each end not being sold. It means effectively we have just over 2900 tickets available for home fans. Given that some of the John Street edge was not sold and also a few in both BLUT and Bramall Lane corner, that attendance does look right. Whether we can sell those home tickets in the Premier League we will see (we did last time).

That's just can't be correct. Tickets were on sale in our end up until yesterday, why would anyone be buying them in the west brom end.

we were on there gangway a and there were loads of empty seats near us i would say at least 100 whether people were elswhere on kop who knows

2890 it is, as its supposed to be 3k in the prem I remember us being allowed to just give 2890, then some teams only gave us the same, Liverpool being one. We will open it all again next year, it's just the front row that's currently blocked off. We will have to open it though next season.

It will be our highest average attendance whilst in the second tier since 1953, when we averaged 31,027 on our way to winning the league.

We've only averaged more in 4 seasons since, all in the top division:
1954 - 31,313
1972 - 33,819
2007 - 30,512
2020 - 30,869
