There's something about the football and the start that worries me. It reminds me of the first few months under Spackman. I hope it turns out different of course.

Yes, we're in a very different time, with some young, skilful confident players, who don't take a second thought for how things went in the past, it's not part of their mindset anymore

It's a tricky one not to get too excited.
We don't start a season like this very often or keep our best players during a transfer window.
I know I should know better feeling like this but it makes a change from feeling disappointed and confused.

One game at a time. As it stands I'm just looking forward to the next match and wish it was coming around sooner. We're very exciting to watch, particularly at home.

In the short term we just need to keep playing as we are and keep racking the points up until the tournament break in mid-November. We then need to pray that RND and N'Diaye return from the World Cup unscathed and, a little further down the line, that we can keep the family silver again in January. If both those things happen then I very much fancy us to be up there.

For now, let's enjoy a packed-out Bramall Lane on Saturday and trounce Toytown. Then win at Swansea for the first time since the 1950's. Then rip the living piss out of this amazing defence Preston supposedly have. Into 'em. Into 'em all, ya bastards.
