I didn't see that myself. Think he coughed up possession too much, ran and passed backwards too much and even headed clear one of our crosses in their penalty box when he could have nodded it back across or towards the goal. The raker I thought he underhit and was 'a nice height for the goalie' to enable the goalie to do a 'camera' save. 6/10 max. We are 11 games into the season and when selected and not injured he hasn't scored yet, hasn't looked likely too and I think it looks like his time could be up. I could be wrong but I doubt it. I would probably rather still play him instead of Osborn but he needs replacing and should be part of the clear out. As he gets that bit older he will get more injuries and take longer to get match fit. Thanks for some decent goals and general all round skills Mr Didz, Chelsea at home a high point i seem to recall.

I think for me he was somewhere inbetween these two. Yes he came and added a bit more intensity to the midfield, but he didn't do it often enough and the balls it seemed to give a more congested midfield. Slav's idea was there, though i didn't realise it when he brought him on, but it seemed he wanted to plug our defensive gaps by keeping the ball better.

Boro absolutely overran our midfield, it seemed worse as the game wore on, we were much more on the attack first half, but second half i thought we ran out of ideas and steam. We didn't have the Tunisian lad on the bench, perhaps he'd have shored things up, but we definitely needed a holding midfielder to protect the defence.

This is absolute madness. They scored two goals that on most other days wouldn’t have gone in. We had the best of the game other than that.

This is the problem when McGoldrick plays. He ends up dropping out of position, clutters up the midfield and then has no options ahead of him when he gets the ball. Other midfielders end up frustrated. Individually, he can look ok, but this approach hampers the team performance. It's ok when he drop deep occasionally, but in the last eighteen months, he's taken to doing it constantly.

He made a difference when he came on, and should have been on much earlier - like, from the start. The most incisive balls forward were from McGoldrick. Some don't want to see it, as well as those who genuinely can't.

Agree with that - don't want to see McG as the focal point of our attack. He should be playing support to a Sharp or McBurnie in a more advanced position. Always seen McG's role as a link between midfield and attack.

It saddens me to say it but I think his time here is limited now, it was noticeable to me how much he slowed our play down, which is the worse thing that could happen being as we are pedestrian at the best of times. He had a terrific effort that on another day he would have scored with but I see Didz in much the same light as the other remnants of Wilder's favourites, we will not be able to move on until they are replaced. I thought Norwood & Fleck were beginning to look more like their old selves a few games back, but last night they were back to being pointless.
I also thought Stevens started pretty well in the first half, but he too reverted to the levels of his last 18 months for us; yes I know it was his first game back in a while & match fitness is different to being fit, but he was starting to struggle before the first half ended.
Billy also didn't cover himself in glory either, as a centre forward who is the focal point of our attack most of his possession was out on the wings leaving no one in the middle to try & get on the end of crosses.
I don't like criticising our players at all, in fact I hardly ever do it, I am sure they are giving their all & want to perform well, & I appreciate that, but it is glaringly obvious where our deficiencies are, & it is clear our better performers from yesteryear are now weighing us down.

Problem with McGoldrick is he doesn't fit this team at all, with Sharp off walking the channels to try and get away from Bamba and Didzy dropping deep there was no goal threat at all in the second half until he got one good shot and everyone starts acting like he's the second coming.

He kills the pace of the attack worse than Baldock, isn't suited to being a lone striker and showed earlier in the season that he's not a wide forward, number 10 or midfielder.

Playing better than most of the rest last night isn't a great achievement.

McG is a one trick pony. He gave the ball away several times, scuffed a shot that a good striker would have buried.

No room for sentiment he needs to move on.

I think alot of people forget he was a free transfer although agree that being nearly 34 if he keeps fit probably got 3 years in the legs but can't see that being regularly in the Championship maybe he might do a Jon Stead and drop down a couple of divisions before hanging up his boots
