At last deadly from corners, first time in 20 years!

If ever we needed proof to ditch that stupid corner where we drop it to Fleck on the edge of the box (and then concede on the break), today was it! Caused absolute bedlam in the box with Ollie Mc and Anel in there

So many games we’ve been aiming for Egan, who often wins the header and rarely scores (unless playing for Ireland).
When Egan’s got McBurnie, Robinson and Anel up with him (all of whom can win headers and have an eye for goal), the difference is amazing.
Pretty sure that’s the first time they’ve all been on the pitch together and it never occurred to me to think this would make us much more of a threat from set pieces, but seems obvious now.

What's really strange is that it was the out-swinging corners that did it. I normally hate it when we take out-swinging corners. As an ex-keeper, I used to dread a decent in-swinger with people attacking it. As soon as I saw taker lining up for an out-swinger, I'd breathe a sigh of relief. For whatever reason, they were all spot on today though. It doesn't half help with Ahmedhodzic attacking them!

And Robinson. Causes absolute havoc in the box, occasionally in the opposition's box as well.

Genuinely though, McBurnie, Anel, Robinson and Egan in there for corners and free kicks, and the remaining 3 in there for Robinson's long throws are a huge threat. It's been said everywhere else but McBurnie and Norwood were incredible today.

JLT's long throws too. Loved seeing us physically causing havoc!!

Still don't know why he doesn't take them when we get one on the right wing though....

Hope every other team in the championship has also seen how to put that keeper under pressure from crosses, set pieces and long throws all game to start taking more points off them

Need to be able to mix it up and make the most of your chances.
We lack the control in midfield with the players missing so nowt wrong with playing a little more direct to McB when he’s in the form he’s in.
Plus I was very surprised how poor they defended and suspect they looked from any ball into their box.
That keeper of theirs just dreadful, though made up for it to some degree by keeping the score down.

TBF Hobbiton Rovers would look deadly at corners with that keeper.

Huge credit to the coaches. This wasn't luck. It looked clearly planned and organised.

The quality of crosses & corners made all the difference today

To a degree yes

but my immediate observation was how Burnley lacked any really tall players.
During the game it didn't matter who was marking McBurnie, he won virtually every header.

When we had a corner it was almost like cheating, men against boys, for example no Burnley player was anywhere near Ahmedhodzic's height
So it was a simple, just cross it in the Ahmedhodxic and he almost has a free header.

Another effective weapon was the throw-ins from Jackie "long throw" Robinson, they were like having corners.

Also agree with Hamandcheese, "terrorise" is the exact word to describe our aerial threat.

Yes , it won't be as easy in the air on Tuesday
