Assuming Wilder stays

If patchy I will give till the JTW and perhaps beyond. If we find ourselves struggling in the first few months that will change.

I've seen the past 4 seasons under Wilder and remember the shame of the years preceding him.

I worry there are lots of forgetful people whose loyalty and faith holds until we go 1-0 down.
How about when we go 1-0 down 21 out of 27 games? And only score 33 in the last 47?

I want him to stay but things need to change. I sincerely hope he can do that but I have my doubts. Be delighted to be wrong

I’ve seen longer than 4 seasons, there’s a difference between loyalty and blind loyalty.

I agree, if things don't change he will walk or we should sack him.

After the managers we've had before, I can't believe how easily some people would chuck the best manager in my lifetime. Best in every respect - results, success, turning up for big occasions, relationship with the fans, style of play and his personality.

We've had so much go wrong in the strangest ever season of football (I'm not suggesting some isn't self inflicted). We will go down to the Championship in a stronger state than we've been in since the last prem relegation, which is lightyears ahead of where we were before Wilder saved us.

Back the man. If it becomes clear that Wilder has to go, then he'll go. That could be 10 games in or 46, but until then he deserves support.

Until the end of 2020. If he’s still not got his mojo back, and we’re not in the top 6, then it’ll be nigh on 24 months of ‘meh’ and time for a change. It’ll also give the new guy a JTW in which to start their rebuild.

Absolutely baffles me how anyone can question CW’s credentials. Without him we’re still wallowing in the doldrums of lower league football. This man remains our leader for as long as he is willing to stay in the job. Sheffield United is a far weaker team without Chris Wilder

Have you just awoken from a coma?

I don't think he'll go, so the bigger question for me is how many games do we give him next season if we start slow?
The season then if we don’t make top 7 then have to be judged harsh season after. Depends if we spend money or not to be honest.

Jesus the state of some of our fan base. “How long are we going to give him” what type of question is this? Tell you what is a novel idea why not just get behind the team when we can get back in and sees where it takes us.
Are you saying he's untouchable and should hold the job for as long as he like? Because that stinks of lack of accountability and is exactly what drives sub par performances

Where have I said that? Another made up statement. Why not just look forward to next season getting in the ground and getting behind the team? Saying he’s only got x amount of games before I start shouting for his head is pathetic.

Ahh ok so you don't think the board and Wilder would set short medium and long term goals which includes for next season? Which will thus gage whether his position is still tenable?
In theory this thread is as close to what the board and Wilder will discuss when they get together, so why not have a debate about what targets the board might set Wilder and under what timeframes? Seems pretty reasonable to me 🤷‍♂️

What will Barney's poll say after the first points are dropped?
