Money?
Spread the risk?
Allow development, but still keep some control?

Dunno.... you tell us?

I thought the common knowledge was he just wanted investors.

He did say a while back he wanted investment into the club so ultimately he could take a backseat and pass control on to someone else.

I don't think he want's out. I think he's just realised that his dream of 'Europe in 5 Years' turned out to look far more expensive than he originally thought, and would like someone else to foot the bill!

Why is McCabe seeking investors ?

Spread the load, bring money into the club.
In the meantime, Birch has been brought in to cut costs, probably quite ruthlessly.
Reality is biting United and it has nothing to do with pipedreams about major investment or takeovers.

Until recently i wasn't aware Mccabe had sons involved with the club. If they are anything like their dad it can't be a bad thing for them to carry on his legacy.

Micalijo, what do you think McCabe should do?

Pump millions of his own money in the football side without any returns?

No. I have said elsewhere that he doesn't seem to take a salary out of SUFC plc so I can totally understand that he would take interest on his loan. I think it is too high but that's my opinion.

Good question do you BB? ..... or just speculation to spring more debate on the subject ;)

I don't think Sir Clevor Trevor was brought in just to save a few £££££'s , for a start he won't have cum cheap. I think McCabe is off sooner rather than later but that is just my opinion.

What he has pumped his money into is improving the infrastructure and trying to create additional revenue streams for the clubs longer term benefit.
Pumping money into the team (which the club cannot sustain) is short termist and an extremely high risk strategy. It does have a past good success rate looking at other team who have tried it.
The case in point will be Forest this season. Spent a fortune they can't afford, didn't look particularly good for it when they played us, and will be in serious shit if they don't go up. If they fail to get promoted then they will be relying on their chairman to bail them out for the next 4-5 years and if he doesn't they will be back to staring Division one in the face.

i'd hope and probably expect that mccabe has pumped money into the club. I wouldn't expect him to put more money in than he can afford or risk his families future but we all put a fair share of our earnings/savings into the club and I don't think he should be any different. On average I probably spend about 10% of my monthly takehome salary (not disposable income) on the blades and would expect there are many like me.

Whilst I wouldn't in ny way be able to undertake his role to a decent standard I would happily pump money into the club if I sat on the kind of wealth he does.

It's alright saying the Jack Walker's are long gone but McCabe is a significantly wealthy man and although he may not be able to throw the sort of money Walker did into the Blades I think he should be in a good position to pump more money in than most Championship Chairmen.

I'd agree that he seems to have concentrated quite rightly on long term goals and infrastructure improvements but times change and at this point in time we're crying out for real investment in the squad ahead of all other areas otherwise we face the prospect of settling back into mediocrity and despite the sound footing we'll struggle to get back to where we've just come from.

Is he looking for investment in his property companies as well?
