Bogdanovic and Richards on Blades radar

SHEFFIELD United believe they have won the race for Daniel Bogdanovic. The Malta striker, who also interests Leeds, is expected to be unveiled as a Bramall Lane player despite claims by the Championship club that a move has yet to be finalised.
As The Star revealed earlier this month, United made an approach for the 30-year-old when his relationship with former club Barnsley soured.
That prompted their West Yorkshire rivals to enter the chase but despite being able to offer Bogdanovic regular first team football, officials working on behalf of Kevin Blackwell's side believe they have agreed a deal in principle with both the player and his representatives.
Leeds, who have resigned themselves to losing leading goalscorer Jermaine Beckford, could attempt to hi-jack the switch but sources close to the Libyan born marksman indicated last night that United is his preferred destination.
Having released seven members of his first team squad during a major close season reshuffle, Blackwell is expected to spend the next few weeks sifting through his list of prospective targets. Swansea City's Ashley Richards is understood to be the latest name on the United manager's radar. The teenager is regarded as one of Wales' most promising talents and has already represented the principality at under-21 level. Richards has also attracted the attention of Glasgow Rangers after making 15 appearances for Paulo Sousa's team. He was a late substitute for Lee Trundle when Swansea beat United 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium in September and can play either in midfield or defence.
Meanwhile, Doncaster Rovers claim United have turned down what they describe as a "club record" bid for Billy Sharp who recently enjoyed a prolific spell on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium. "I'm disappointed, " said Rovers chairman John Ryan. "We will have to wait and see what happens."
Sharp returned to United from Scunthorpe in July 2007.
